By design America was...

America is defective by design. The original constitution allowed people to own other people as slaves. They continue this tradition today, warmongers have enslaved the people living in the US to pay for war after war.

I'm going to post this event in general since it's a NH event. Here's the text of a flyer I'll be bringing (Tony inspired this):

Would Thomas Jefferson Support Afghan Warlords?

No Way.

Jefferson was tough on terrorism. He defeated the Barbary Pirates, the terrorists of their day. But he didn't commit Americans to endless occupations of foreign populations. He didn't support foreign dictators and warlords with American tax money. When the job was done, he brought the troops home.

"Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations – entangling alliances with none."
-Thomas Jefferson, (not a Nobel Peace Prize Winner)

NH Peace Action, as far as I know, supports peace.

The word "disarmament" doesn't throw me off.

Disarmament is usually (in my experience) used to refer to only nukes.  However, I guess it could mean all weapons or some other term which is broader than only nukes.

Nothing like the wind chill endured for 2 hours tempered by the sunshine to help my Viking perspective and determination. Added to that many, many positive horn honks and "thumbs ups" from the sidewalk and vehicular traffic, to help motivate determined protesters who I am so grateful showed up. Will bring more protest signs next Friday 11:00 12/18 at corner from Shea Porters office. Please despite the hardship can I get some continued (warmly dressed) support? If I get more positivity about this effort, I will press release the event.
This Shea Porter (D. REP. Flipper) character definitely deserves our umbrage. It helped my anger management to show my sign "BRING TROOPS HOME" flashing through their tax supported window at their tax supported staff. Later a man (I am sure some tax supported thug, dressed a lot nicer than any one else) was aiming a cell phone camera at us; hopefully I dodged this by the shield of my sign. (They got better/ younger pictures of me at outside of Waco compound).
As my insulated fingers froze, I could not continue to pass the flyers out while holding sign. The wind was almost lifting my plus size by my aerodynamic sign upward .... and I had to be mindful of the impending meter readers (who still tagged me w a parking ticket). I left to the libertarian haven of good food and spirits; Murphy's Tap Room on Elm, with great company from my new Free Stater brain pal (from old stomping grounds of youth, Lexington, KY), :newheart: Good luck to the noble protesters today at Fed building at Concord today. I love you guys.  :newheart:

Again Next Friday, 11:00 33 Lowell St, Manchester? Will try to get particulars such as better parking, etc.

After studying further this group "Peaceoftheaction.org" on Cindy Shaheen's site a lot of the talk by their leader diverges quickly from antiwar strategies  to support of national heath policy> :bs: : and other big government rhetoric. I must withdraw my support for this group and find a way to strengthen libertarian response to foreign war. We need to keep up the protest at Shea Porter's. See ya 11:00 AM FRIDAYs?

While we were out there demonstrating, her office was holding a meeting in Concord about "National Service". As is too true with so many organizations, if you want it done right, you're gonna have to do it yourself.

We'll be there approximately 18 hours early, but only staying a short time.

Are you confusing "peaceoftheaction.org" and "peaceaction.org"??

http://peaceoftheaction.org/

http://www.nhpeaceaction.org/index.php

They are not the same organization...

Cindy Sheehan is calling for a direct action movement in Washington DC called "peace of the action"

http://cindysheehanssoapbox.blogspot.com/2009/10/peace-of-action-by-cindy-sheehan.html

excerpt:
To that end, we are organizing the most ambitious anti-war, peace event ever. We are planning what we are calling, Peace of the Action which will be the largest, most aggressive and sustained action ever done in DC.

We are calling for 5000 people to commit to come to this Nation's Capitol to participate in daily civil resistance to stop "business as usual," because "business as usual" in this town is so corrupt and disordered.

We are not calling for this commitment for a day, a week, or a month. We are not even interested in making symbolic gestures. We are calling for this commitment until our demands of: All troops and para-military mercenaries, are ordered out of Iraq and Afghanistan, the drone bombings in the tribal regions of Af-Pak are discontinued and we get about the business of healing, reconciliation and REPARATIONS.

I am going to move to DC to help coordinate these actions and I will be 100% committed with you to be: "all in it to win it." This time true change will happen, it must.

We must sacrifice a few of our creature comforts to rein in the Empire we live in before it's too late. We will not start Peace of the Action until we have 5000 people who are willing to join us.
This plan is ambitious, audacious and bold. However, I truly think we have a chance to be successful. We are looking for many coordinators, helpers and hell raisers and are hoping to house, (or tent) and feed everyone until Peace happens. This will take massive infrastructure and financial support.

Hopefully we can begin Peace of the Action by the 7th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq on March 19th.

So pleased to here about  larger communities of peace activists. On Cindy's Sunday radio program I am quite sure the organizations leader Peaceoftheaction quickly diverged from mission of peace, and talked at length about support of Obamacare. Forgetaboutit!!!
Tonight I have learned that Rep. Shea Porter is a member of NHpeaceAction and then voted for spending an additional $30 billion for Afhganistan war.
I would like to support a DC protest but admit disgust at getting antiwar activism hijacked. Would like to start the NH libertarians for Peace tomorrow at Shea Porters office, Friday 11:00 am PROTEST, 33 Lowell St, Manchester.
I am riled up! what about you?   :peace: :peace: :laughing4::soapbox: :blob6: :icon_santa: :grommit: :peace: :_eatsnow__by_Conuyaku: :peace: :peace: :peace:

What does it mean to be a member of NH Peace Action?

Did she give a contribution?
Did she volunteer for a leadership position?

The vote on funding the troop surge Pres. Obama has called for that you referenced won't happen for several months and she is quoted recently saying "at this point I cannot support that buildup." when asked if she'll vote for the funds.

Yeah, that's right.  I mixed up her vote for the (2008) HR 4986 Defense Authorizations Bill which supplied $187.14 billion for Iraq and Afghanistan operations. They won't vote on the $30 billion until the troops are already there....

Any bets on whether she will vote against the war after the troops are mired in combat against the Pashtun? Give you odds that "at that point" she'll vote for the $40 billion (yep, it will be $40 billion by then  ;D)....

Didn't you read the article??

She said that "Until that vote, the defense budget has plenty of money to carry out the mission" which means at some point she - and all those others opposed - will have to vote to cut-off funding or get the president to change the mission there.

Dear Bill Kaufman,
I was in Manchester protesting in the cold today and just got home. I read your article more closely. I really appreciate your guidance as I admit that I have a lot to learn. Are you available to me to help with fact checking, as I continue my antiwar involvement?
The article you cite is indeed disturbing. I am now more angry how she describes the backlash against the war surge as"political noise". Hear Rep. Shea Porter soundly supports the forever aggressive US foreign policy. Financially unsupportable and morally wrong.
Else where Shea Porter has appeared upset, describing  the war plan of Obama to be "irresponsible".
She has been changing her speech to yield to the direction of the winds. We must watch and compare how she votes to what she says. Some smaller war bills she has voted against; but the the big one for 130 billion she has voted for. I admit that keeping track of these bills and how she votes for my hobby of about 3 weeks has been difficult.  I have a day job but want to do better in antiwar activism.

Added to the chain of war's destruction, increased rocketing debt and increased terrorism. Of course, many of the youth in these Muslim lands while under our military occupation, become hostile  and radicalized.
Unacceptable are the innocent people killed in this war especially children.
Here citizens resist paying taxes which fund US perpetrated atrocities .

To protect my very good source, I can not reveal how I know that Shea Porter is a member of NHPEACEACTION. If she is available, ask her about this. I would be interested to how she responds.
Let's stay tuned together. OK? As the real accounting of additional hidden costs of this war rolls in, who will pay?

Sure - anyway I can help I will.

Not sure what her membership has to do with anything.

Many members of the NHPA are also involved in the Quaker movement (AFSC) here in NH and they both have a major "social/economic justice" component.

I am sure they want any "peace dividend" that would come as the result of disarmament to go to "social/economic justice". That is why she is a Democrat - no?
