Protest At Shea-Porter's Manchester Office Friday
Shea-Porter Boosts Support For Afghan Warlords

So far the United States has spent more than $937 billion on the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, according to the Congressional Research Office. $704 billion of this was to look for WMDs in Iraq; the other $232 billion has melted away into the mountains of Afghanistan and the Swiss bank accounts of its warlords.
Democrats were elected to bring the troops home, as Obama promised. Instead, next year they are pouring another 65 or 73 (depending on whom you believe) billion dollars into the Afghan quagmire, into a war with no mission and no endpoint.
Of  course there are other costs of war. 4371 American soldiers have died in Iraq, along with 1395 "contractors". 934 have died so far in Afghanistan, and the numbers are rising.

Tomorrow at 11 AM, NH Libertarians For Peace will protest outside Shea-Porter's office.
Contact person for this event is Patricia Lee. She can be reached at patricialee76@gmail.com or (603) 306-6923.

Not true.

He thought and campaigned on (as did Shea-Porter) - that we were fighting the wrong war in Iraq - and should be concentrating our efforts on Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.

He intends to remove all American combat troops from Iraq by August 2010, and all forces by the end of 2011.

Well, of course there's an Obama speech promising everything. But he did promise to bring the troops home in several speeches... I don't think his supporters took this to mean moving them deeper into Asia. (I concede that in other speeches he did promise to expand the Afghan war... but I reiterate that few of his voters heard this message, because they didn't want to.)
