 SO SAD for the kid. I like the idea of sending this kid some science kits as he is unlikely to learn science in this environment.

When I was about that kids age  a family friend gave me an unusual gift.  It was a subscription to a 'once a month'  science project kit.
Every month a box would come with a  science lesson and some experiments. I tried find a similar thing on Google but,didn't find it.  I found this, however.
