John Hemming, MP and chairman of Justice for Families, knows of five refugee families in Spain. He believes the number of couples choosing to go abroad will increase as families lose faith in British procedure. "You can see why people want to get out. People recognise that you do not get a fair trial in the family courts. The system is stacked against parents," he said. "Going abroad gives you a chance to have a family life."

"Possibility of ... abuse in the future." ::) Had she abused anybody previously?

QuotePoppy, their first child, was taken into care at the age of 11 weeks in October 2008 after a psychologist gave Carissa a diagnosis of Münchausen's by proxy. This later changed to a diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder. Testimony at court hearings attended by this newspaper suggested that there was "no risk" of immediate harm to the child but she remained in care because of the possibility of emotional abuse in the future.

Lloyd Danforth

If Emotional abuse counted most parents, relatives and lovers would be in jail.

It seems to me more and more inevitable, even here in America. Anyone with children who trusts the system is insane, if you ask me.

i once asked my ex-wife what this "abuse" stuff was that was being mentioned in connection with me .... she said it was emotional. I guess i have been inflicting that for a long time now.

i guess in this case. they diagnosed the mother with problem that may someday lead to emotional abuse. That was enough. The grandparents did not have the same opinion.

for me it was funny to read the psychobabble and government laws and terms they use under the UK system, when others see it as kidnapping

it is obvious that the state wants to be  in charge of all families

Just a minor correction -- the state and all its minions honestly believe THEY and only they, already are in charge of all families and family members, especially those below an arbitrary age.
