The delivery address is Chicago . They can buy all the shotguns they want . the gangbangers will always have them out gunned in the Chicago public schools. Which is really strange considering that Jane Byrne passed a law banning gun ownership in the early 80's.. you think a law like that would mean no guns anywhere right ?

The Chicago public school system .. every thing your kids need except an education ... and really very little they really need .. and only at almost 2.5 times the cost of the average private yearly tuition ... what a freaking bargain. How soon till they are following in that Kansas school district?

Reply from Joe  Lieberman. I guess this piqued his interest because this was not a form letter.

Dear Mr. Mccotter:

Thank you for your letter regarding the U.S. Department of Education's (ED) recent order of 27 new short barreled shotguns.

I appreciate the issues you raised. It is critical that taxpayer money is spent effectively and responsibly. In this matter, ED has indicated that the shotguns are to be used by special agents in the department's Office of the Inspector General (IG). In addition to performing audits to examine federal programs administered by ED, agents in the IG's office also investigate potential criminal fraud against the department.

All of the agents undergo law enforcement and firearms training. Thankfully, no ED agent has had to discharge his or her weapon in the line of duty; but the agency has said that its agents have arrested suspects with violent criminal records and may need that protection in the future.

Thank you again for sharing your views and concerns with me. I hope you will continue to visit my website at http://lieberman.senate.gov for updated news about my work on behalf of Connecticut and the nation.
