Who's up for a crawfish boil?

One of the things we'll really miss when we move is the availability of crawfish. Generally at least once a month from March to June (some years February to July), we have crawfish.

So, I've been looking into the various delivery services for live crawfish. It's not unreasonable, if you're having a decent sized party, with folks who can eat 3-5 pounds apiece (that's live weight, not the amount of meat you eat!)

So, after we move, who all would be interested in having one or two crawfish boils every season, if I do the cooking?

I'm not a fish fan, but I'd join in and bring some Gumbo or something yummy

Lloyd Danforth

Being a fish fan wouldn't help. You need to be a bug fan.

I don't eat crawfish, but I love crayfish!  ;D

Kat Kanning

Kira and I like to catch them, but we don't eat them.

We have other giant, underwater insects around here, that don't need to be shipped...

Yeah! And, you don't have to take more than one or two of these bugs out of the shell!

I love crawfish.  My New Orleans cousin used to bring a bushel with her when she came to visit and we would cover the table with plastic, dump then out in a pile and gorge ourselves, washing it all down with beer.  I would definitely be interested if I was in the neighborhood at the time.

I am in! No real experience cooking them, but I never met one I didn't like.

We have jumbo crawfish up here in New England. Big enough to even eat the claw meat. They got down to $5/pound this year. But I do love the little guys too.

Kat Kanning

There's crawfish in the creeks here.

I wonder what the market is in New England and how one propagates them.

Well, you see, a boy crawfish and a girl crawfish meet...
