Good link. I try and explain to people that all laws have death as the ultimate penalty, but most just refuse to believe me.

Yes, most people have lived with the government gun in the room for so long that they can't even perceive it any more. Inform them of its constant presence, behind every statue for even the smallest infraction, and they look at you as if you're crazy.

There's a video idea there.

Show everyday interactions, only make the guns very explicit. Someone goes to get their dog neutered, and the veterinarian comes out accompanied by 4 guys in SWAT costumes with their M-16s pointed at the dog owner. The vet says "Yes, we can neuter your dog and report to the government that there is a dog living at your address". A guy goes to the grocery store and gets some groceries and a pack of cigarettes. When the cashier goes to the cigarette area and picks up the pack, she comes back with a couple more SWAT guys pointing their guns. That sort of stuff. The "normal" guy never even notices the SWAT guys.

Maybe top it off with the guy going nuts when he sees someone who isn't wearing a SWAT costumes open carrying a .22 revolver. Perhaps somehow have a bunch of the SWAT guys hanging around and/or following the guy. "OMG, I'm skeered 'cause that one guy has a tiny weapon" - totally ignoring the other guys with far more powerful weapons.
