Can a defendant force the trial to advance to press the issue ? I am not saying I would be the hero to force a trial that could land my ass in a fed pokey for 10 or 20 years , but for some of the lesser  charges could a person say . " no , i want this case to go forward to prove the arrest was unlawful " . It seems like they will just pop Julian over and over .

Again ... not saying I would be the hero to do this , just asking if it was possible.
