It is my turn I guess. . .

this morning on my way to Weirs Beach in Laconia I was travelling down route 3, down a large hill where the speed limit goes from 55 to 35.  I slowed down to about 40 with traffic.   Noticed two vehicles parked strangely on the left.  A man appeared and walked in the street and motioned for me to pull over.  I've seen their gang symbols before.

After handing over my papers he said he'd be right back with me.  After he came back he 'let me off with a warning because I slowed right down"  but I would need to "hand him over the marijuana."    Of course I had no idea what he was talking about.

He talked a lot, most of it jumbled in my memory, a lot about canine dogs and how he knows the judge and that the judge LOVES his dog and will sign a warrant for anything the dog does.  I told him I thought that it was cute that he and the judge were so close and he quickly attempted to dismiss it.

The cop ordered me out of the car.  I told him I'd rather not.  He said the dog was scary.  He didn't mention about how his dog would climb all over my car.  He didn't seem to have much control of his animal.

He decided to seize my car.  It's got my camera, my girlfriend's hairstyling tools which she needs for work.  When I go to pick up the car I expect to be kidnapped.

Does any one have any oster blades and clippers and right handed shears and trimming tools that she might be able to borrow?

Have someone else retrieve the car.

Seems to me they could plant evidence in the absence of witnesses... in fact I would imagine the chain of evidence or what ever they call it is suspect.

F'n Memorial Day Weekend is the worst for this crap... I'm stayin' put till Tuesday.

Of course not.  Cops would never do that...

I still have that oceanfront property in Kansas for sale...

If someone besides yourself goes to pick up the car for you, and there's a large entourage with cameras and journalists and a lot of signs with slogans like "WE KNOW YOU'RE LIARS" and "THIS IS A SET-UP" and "A THUG'S NOSE IS NOT PROBABLE CAUSE" and so on, it might make for a less one-sided scenario.

okay,

I wasn't harming anyone and I don't appreciate people taking my things without permission.  This IS a tough weekend, lots of cops out looking to harm others.

So here's my pitch.  It looks like Jaime won't be able to get her car until tomorrow.  I'm worried only because if the car is searched he will find something illegal and is it possible that they might arrest HER?

He said he'd be "done" searching by tonight and we will have to pay Al's Towing at 300 Court Street in Laconia, NH.

Jaime called the Troop E and they connected her with the cop.  Cop went through the whole thing about how it would have been easier for me to give in but since he was a nice guy he would keep the car at Belknap County BUilding so that we don't get a charge.  The window was open, keys confiscated.  Jaime said "he didn't have permission to allow you to search"   " I wouldn't allow you to search either."   THe cop asked for her address and she said "why would you need MY address if I'm coming to pick up my car"   He didn't like the "game" she was playing.  My girl is strong and doing her best not to be upset.  It helps my own state of mind.

If I am arrested at home, Jaime might need someone to help her get her car back to the house.   If I don't get arrested I will call and ask if there's a warrant for my arrest.

I don't have teh money for bail, and I don't want to be bailed out.  I didn't do anything wrong.  I hurt noone.

I don't have a camera, mine was stolen.   It's a pretty one sided situation.  I hate waiting to be picked up.

There's your problem.  They're not fond of folks who don't believe that violence is the best solution to every problem.

They can do anything they want, with or without "cause."  No use letting it run your life.

AntonLee

you're right (as usual if you ask me) Joe.

I've been on nerve all morning/afternoon.  So has Jaime.  If I don't stand up to bullies how will anything ever change?

I advise you do not talk to the cops, or post any details period.  Do you need a ride anywhere?  Can we help you or can we stop by your residence and discuss this or offer some other support? Contact Lloyd via e-mail or telephone and we'll try to help you if you need it.   I don't mind driving to your place if that helps.

AntonLee

you guys are great.  Thanks a bunch.

Of course, myself and Jaime take our other car to find out where Al's Towing is.  Our other car breaks down.  Who does AAA call to pick it up?  Al's Towing.

I'm told I'll be "processed" later this week.  "No big deal, don't lose sleep over it.  No hard feelings I was just doing my job."

Thanks to you and Lloyd, Mike Tiner, and everyone who wished us well.   Guess I don't have to wait for them tonight.

This is the first time I've heard of them seizing a car for further search based on the "suspicion of possession". Now, we all know a lot of the seizures in cases where it's optional, are done so that they can "inventory"search your car. But in this case, it sounds like the only reason for the seizure, was that he thought you had marijuana and he hadn't been able to find it (yet).

AntonLee

but the "judge knows my dog" and "always get a search warrant when it alerts"

just odd to me, when I spoke to him last he felt the need to really want me to like him and not think of him as a bully as I had said he was earlier.

Kat Kanning

How horrible.  I'm sorry the thugs got you, Anton. :(

Ogre

Sorry to hear you're getting harassed for doing, well, nothing at all. Its sadly, another example of how you don't need to do anything harmful to get in "trouble."

And yes, I can see where the fellow wants you to like him -- he wants you to validate what he is doing. If he can get you to say something like, "Oh, just doing your job? I understand" -- then he can go home with no hard feelings. It appears that he might actually feel a little bad about what he's doing, but if he can just get you to forgive him, he'll be okay with what he's doing.

Russell Kanning

good job not validating the thugs job and stance
how can people help now?

the cops just seem to be getting worse .... they just take the car and see what stuph they want

AntonLee

thank you guys.  I think it's settled for the moment.  He's going to arrest me and then a trial I suppose.  We lost both of our cars and after paying the impound 200 bucks we at least have one.
