Yes, there will be an AltExpo at this year's PorcFest!

We'll be at site #2 for the big tent and the adjoining site #27 (double) will be our Expo tent village with some demonstrations going on in the middle.

The schedule should be set by Tuesday night and you're going to like a lot of the stuff we're putting on.

We have different enterprisers complementing the main effort, including an Alt-video team and there'll be an Expo Shelter supplier (ie, cheap tents for sale).

We'll have a schedule in the main registration packet this year, so it won't be so darn hard to find out what we're doing! We're selling ads on the back of the flier and still have room for some more, so PM me to get your ad space (must be agorist or at least non-politico).

We still have some camper crash space, so write Dan@AltExpo.org if you need a little spot in the village.

Like Curtis says, PorcFest this year, will be EPIC!

Will you have a means for people to show / watch educational videos on alternative topics?
Although I dropped it from my Educational video night, I can probably get several videos on herbal / alternative medicine.

I wouldn't mind leaving the videos there for the duration of Porcfest so people can watch them at their convenience, if I knew someone was keeping an eye on them.

I'm not sure who to contact about this, but if there is any way I can add my other videos to the altexpo lineup, I might have to do that if I don't get more people on the FSP forum poll. I did just email Dan, but I'm not sure if he was the right contact for this.

Brycen, we'll  have video equipment and  you can show videos at the AltExpo  tent.

We'll  have talks from 10AM-6PM, but the projector and screen'll be available til people pass out after that.  I think we watched vids til 3AM 2 years ago at PF.

email me: Jack@AltExpo.org for more!

What kinds of videos did people watch in past years?

V, Idiocracy, Federal Reserve, 9/11, media mind manipulation, you name it.

We will have an 8ft wide video screen and projector equipment. People can bring their own videos and show them on the cine Expo screen - just have to coordinate times. Maybe Brycen will help manage that, eh?

Jack and I arranged off line for me to manage the movie viewing at Alt Expo. Either myself or other volunteers will be there from 7 pm to as late as people want to stay up, watching alternative topic videos. I am bringing several DVDs, Jack has a catalog, and other people are welcome to bring their own as well. I am trying to find out from Dan what DVD/video formats we can use.

My Dvd's will be shown from 7-9 pm each evening starting Thursday and then the equipment will be available for other movies people want to watch. I may also show something from 8-10 am if anyone is up and wants to watch them.

I should be there in the evenings regularly, starting Wed around 8-9 pm.

You can post here or on FSP or private message me on either forum, up until Monday about 7 pm Eastern time (5 pm my time in Utah). After that until I arrive, Jack has my cell phone number. I really don't want to post it in an open forum but if you are planning to show videos and need to contact me between Mon evening and Wed evening you can ask me in a PM.

Thanks for helping out, brycen - many hands make light work. Just for an easy to remember email, any video suggestions (which you bring) you have,  just email them to video@AltExpo.org and I'll set that to forward to Bryce, the video czar!

bryce might be up until the sun comes up :)

jaqeboy

Yeah, poor Bryce!  ;)

Daniel will run the Expo Café coffee service, so maybe he can just hook Bryce up with an IV to keep him awake! Daniel is at cafe@AltExpo.org.

James will host a marketplace table, which we are continuing as a tradition at meetings after its auspicious debut at Hoyt Farm. You can get as much or as little space as you need to sell things, display literature or post a 3X5 card classified ad for things wanted or for sale. James is at table@AltExpo.org.

I usually only sleep 3-4 hours at night anyway, when off from work (I work from 10 pm - 7 am so I usually take a 2-4 hour nap during the day as well).

Unfortunately I don't drink coffee, but I will take Mountain Dew, Dr Pepper, or my favorite caffeine source, Barq's root beer.  ;)

It would help if I knew whether I will be able to use someone's computer to check my email after arriving at the campground. I leave home tomorrow about 5-6 pm, but can use my Mom's computer Monday night/Tues morning. Unless we get that worked out, the email will not be a good way to reach me after about noon on Tuesday. Also please include something about Porcfest or Alt Expo in the subject line so I know your message isn't junk. I would hate to delete it with all the other junk mail I get.

I have the movie Gandhi out from the local library and am thinking of bringing it. I figure people might like to see the civil disobedience he did (pretty much single-handedly getting the Indians in South Africa, and later the people in India to resist nonviolently), although I have to warn there are people following him who die at the hands of the state, and also it is somewhat statist in that they just set up a new state rather than start a voluntary society. Also I am not sure the amount of Gandhi-worshipping that occurs is healthy. Still we can get some ideas and inspiration, and I found it a very emotionally moving movie when I saw it again today, my second time watching it I think. It is over 3 hours long, one of those movies with a built-in intermission.

jaqeboy

I would love to see Gandhi - not sure people will commit 3 hours straight to watching it at PF.
