I am interested in getting more families at rallies...    however I think we need to walk that line that doesn't look like we are pushing our children to do anything. Spontaneous acts are very cool and if the spirit moves them... William's "I don't want to be number" was 'real', not him parroting his wacko parents.

When you are in the position of explaining the way things are to your innocent child it really can show you how out of wack our system has become.

Sorry if this has been addressed already, but I'm way too lazy to read this whole thread a second time...

I'm curious as to whether those who burned their SS cards intend to not actually USE their numbers anymore?  For example, if a non-governmental agency such as utilities or cable asks for it, will you refuse to provide it?

This summer I signed up for utilities, got a bank account, and got arrested and didn't tell any my SSN.

Dang, I should have consulted with you!  I'm moving into a new apartment and have had my SSN requested by
1) apartment complex I'm moving into
2) apartment complex I'm *not* moving into
3) electric company
4) gas company
5) cable company
6) bank
7) DMV


I went ahead and gave it to an old lady out walking her dog; I figured she was going to ask for it, too.
