The 25th anniversary New England Gathering of War Tax Resisters and Supporters is an annual educational, networking, and support gathering for (potential) resisters, offering an opportunity for new communities to engage in war tax resistance and to learn from the rich history of war tax resistance/refusal/redirection (WTR) in New England.

The gathering will include panels, how-to sessions, small group discussions, strategizing to bring WTR to new groups, home-grown entertainment, and more. It will include support and new connections for those already resisting and history, how-tos, risks and rewards, and a chance to learn from past successes and failures for those new to the idea or considering whether WTR is for them.

The gathering is for both new and experienced war tax resisters as well as for those just testing the waters. Together we will share and expand our community of resistance.

The 2010 New England War Tax Resisters Gathering will take place in concert with the semi-annual meeting of the National War Tax Resistance Coordinating Committee (NWTRCC), sharing our space and activities on Friday evening thru Sunday lunch. A WTR counselor training will be offered by NWTRCC on Sunday afternoon from 1–5 PM.

All meals will be provided by Pacifeast Caterers; childcare will be available to pre-registrants; and housing can be arranged for those who need it. Registration is on a sliding scale.

Anyone thinking about car pooling/sharing the driving and gas expenses from way up here (Grafton, NH)?
I'd mostly be interested in Saturday afternoon and evening ...

It may be a while before the National group meets in your area (we hold meetings twice a year, but bounce around from region to region -- next one is going to be in my 'hood: San Francisco). However, the New England WTR group is among the more active regional groups, and holds an annual gathering of its own, so keep your ears up next fall to see if it's in your neck of the woods.
