"We need to get signs into compliance (with the town's bylaw)," Lamprey told selectmen. "Signs for businesses outside of Salisbury are taking money away from businesses in Salisbury."

Heh.

Massachusetts laws take money away from businesses, but this guy wants more laws, strictly enforced.

Remember Chris Lopez, the NH free stater paralyzed in a deck collapse?  I've requested that she write up an updated list of things folks can do to most effectively help her.  She replied with this e-mail below:

It's been difficult to put into words what it is that really helps.  I have a tendency to want to do things for myself & now I just can't do as much...
That's why the best way to help is still a phone call or visit.  I am living independently now without assistance, but am momentarily house bound.  I have a lot of strength, but am continuing to get stronger day by day.
I have moved to Manchester in the hopes that I will be surrounded by more friends and acquaintances.  At the risk of sounding lame, it is my hope that this will encourage more people to "stop on by!"  Specifically, I will need help in the following weeks with organizing my apartment & keeping it clean.  I will also be needing some help with grocery runs until I'm a little more settled.
I AM ALSO LOOKING FOR A ROOMMATE TO SHARE EXPENSES!  $600 + utilities

To this list I would add that I don't think Chris is getting enough phone calls and that last I checked it was ideal to call between 4p and 8p.  She has the ability to get in and out of a car herself so will eventually be zipping around town, but at the moment her situation is a little like house arrest.  Also: If you type Chris Lopez into Facebook you should be able to contact her that way.

MPD crashes Occupy NH - gently.  NH liberty update:  Cops have just made what's apparently their first appearance at a Manchester Occupation to question or converse with organizers.  A key volunteer says there may be a showdown with them the night of Tues, October 18th.  Click link, if available, or see video descrip for details.

New Hampshire news update Oct 19:  OccupyNH.org is reporting the police have at least temporarily withdrawn their threat of enforcing curfew.  However it's not clear whether the authorities may act later.  There are also new tensions between libertarians and socialists at the Manchester Occupation, as well as a reported theft in the park.  Click link below, if available, or see video descrip for details.

Occupy New Hampshirites to descend on Bank of America?

NH liberty update:  Ideologically questionable or not, a movement is better judged by its actions than its thoughts.  Already facing off with Manchester's authoritarian courts and enforcement policies, members of Occupy New Hampshire say they will now take aim at another obstacle to human potential. 

They're planning to descend on a Manchester Bank Of America branch, urging customers to close their accounts.  This has already worked well in Keene and other places.   Click link below, if available, or see video descrip for details.
