Are you keeping the half for the payout? Just wondering.

Cathleen

Russell Kanning

Yea I have two envelopes
1 with your name on it and 1 with the prize in it. :)

Russell Kanning

I could try to run with the money but in our current police state I can't ride a train, or plane or drive across a border with my papers ..... so I have to stay in NH and start a revolution. :brave:

If we don't have 100 sold by the August MVProcs meeting, we will have the drawing then anyhow.

I think my check will expire in June.  Maybe the LSF could cash it before then.  Or, tear it up and I'll pay another way.

Sorry. I have to drive 90 minutes away to Newmarket to check the LSF PO Box. I'll have that fixed by next week by forwarding it to my new Nashua mailbox.  :-[

Michael Fisher

Or... did you mail a check to Russell for the raffle instead?

Russell Kanning

I have it. I just never have seen Cathleen when I have had the jar.

I'm learning of many Biblical objections to gambling. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking about starting a religious campaign to stop the government from fundraising through gambling and the sale of alcohol.

If such a campaign succeeds, and if the government cannot raise funds through gambling and selling alcohol, it will be significantly starved for money. Gambling would end up entirely banned unless it is demonopolized. Alcohol sales are very unlikely to be banned again, so alcohol would most likely be demonopolized.

I don't see the problem with telling the public that the government should stop doing these things. It should stop doing ANYTHING at ALL!

cathleeninnh

I am not sure any strictly religious campaign would be successful in the NH political arena. As part of a larger campaign, it could be very useful. Can demonopolizing and getting government out of these businesses be done in one fell swoop or would we have two tough battles?

Not only is the Porcupine Raffle illegal and immoral .... it is fun. :)

It cannot.  Maybe in SC, though :)

Michael Fisher

It does not need to remain strictly religious.

I should start a new thread.

Lloyd Danforth

I'll keep those numbers and give you another $20.  The 20 I gave you was money from the sales of Atlases including an extra $5.00 that Kevin sent me. Should have been more clear. :)

What flavor of Chirstian are you?
What version of the Bible do you read/follow?

Any Christian feel free to answer.
