The tsa is the group that disrupts general airport business and the flow of travelers. They have clogged the system.

Dear Ms. Dillon,

Thanks for your prompt response.

I appreciate the information you provided. However I must make you aware
of the Airport Regulations which are in place for events such as yours.
We are not at all interested in disrupting your right to free speech
however we do desire to ensure that you are aware of the parameters in place to
ensure that everyone's safety is considered.

The Airport has two specific areas designated for picketing or other
demonstrations.  This activity must be carried out a minimum of six
feet from the outermost entrances of the passenger terminal and must occupy
only one-half the width of the sidewalk and allow unrestricted access
to the building.  Each location may have up to 8 picketers for a total of
16.  The number is regulated to ensure that pedestrian safety and
vehicle traffic is not compromised.

Please provide me with the number of participants that you expect and
an estimation of how long your demonstration will last. Additionally,
please provide me with a copy of any handouts that you may be passing
out.

Please also provide me with a fax number and I'll provide you with a
copy of the Airport's Rules and Regulations regarding picketing and
demonstrations as well as a diagram which depicts the area where such
activities may be carried out.

Thanks for your attention to this important matter,

Paul Mueller
Airport Security Manager
Manchester Airport - MHT

Dear Mr. Mueller,

Thank you so much for your offer of assistance.
That's very kind of you.  I don't think we need any
help, though. This will be a simple affair.  Let me
spell out our plans so far.  We're going to be on
either side of the sidewalk, opposite the front
entrance, across from the revolving door, near the
parking.  We'll be on either side of that main
sidewalk, not blocking the foot traffic into the
airport, nor the auto traffic.  We'll be mostly
carpooling into the airport to minimize the number of
cars we're bringing in.

Dave Ridley told me that you had generously offered to
expedite a permit.  Thank you so much for your offer!
However, I'm a firm believer in our inherent right to
gather in public, and of our right to free speech, so
I wont be pursuing a permit at this time.  I do
appreciate your willingness to work with us on this.
I also realize that any arrest of other legal action
will result in additional publicitiy for our cause.

You might like some history on why we chose the
airport as the locale for this rally.  Since the
airport is the beneficiary of the eminent domain, we
consider you the instigator in this affair.
Furthermore, we consider eminent domain theft, plain
and simple.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,
Kat Dillon

Apparently, the 17th person doesn't have a right to free speech.

Russell Kanning

If they can't stop the orange robed guys in LAX ..... then they won't be able to stop us.
Last time we were right in the terminal .... this time we are taking it easy on them. :)

Dave Ridley

Yea .... how does that work.

Lloyd Danforth

I guess people will have to come and go, always maintaining no more than 16 people getting their right to frre speech and freedom of assembly at once.

Russell Kanning

or how do we decide who is that unlucky 17th person that has to rot in jail?

TackleTheWorld

14...15... 16...

I'm planning on being there. Hey! I win!

GT

Funny how you get contacted 7 days before a protest stating you must apply for a permit 3 days ago. Guess they didn't read the press release

Russell Kanning

Maybe I should have a small sign that signifies the 17th protester .... nice inside joke for the security guys.

That could be an ongoing joke ..... is Lauren going to show up, so we have that all important 17? ;D
