I agree with you as usual Dale.
We are not sleeping in his bed. We are just sleeping in a bed.
I just shy away from the authors that make a big deal about their "rights".

I thought it was funny that video is the "official version" .... I was waiting for it to be copyrighted

The author could sue whomever released the content without permission.

Still wouldn't give them ownership of data on others' computers (or whatnot); it would be a contract violation, just as if someone agreed never to wear plaid, and you caught him wearing plaid.

So, if someone buys a movie and agrees not to copy it, then hands you a copy, the author of the movie can sue him for breach of that agreement, but cannot make you delete the copy you have: you weren't party to that agreement.

Indeed. What galls me is that the IP supporters believe they also are due compensation from all those who then receive that data, or worse, who then pass it on even though they are not and never were parties to any contract.

That's what really burns my buns.
