Re: Reply #88 - The freeze frame of the video posted is classic! My hat goes off to you, for the content also!  There appeared to be avoidance to you, by your elected official and her monopoly guy (Where was his top hat?)
Pardon my obsession with hats and versatile usage, but Mattel may have been on to something and it could possibly lead to beneficially attributed attire for law enforcement in the future, or at least an amateur photo shop funny? Old Propeller Beany Copter Toy Hat Commercial    ;D

Protest and possible trial scheduled August 25:
http://nhunderground.com/forum/index.php?topic=23192.0

If jailed it would likely be for refusal to pay any fines.  And here's how you can help should that happen:

1) If you could send me one of these books.

http://nhunderground.com/forum/index.php?topic=23192.msg337889#msg337889

If possible post here on this thread which one your sending so there's no duplication of effort.
You may have to send them directly from the publisher rather than amazon, I don't know...but they definitely can't come from your house.  I guess call the jail I wind up in and find out their policies.

2) Protests outside the jail would be very helpful.

3) Letters via mail-to-jail.com    Best content would be printouts of the front page traffic at FreeKeene.com or copies of most any liberty related NH news articles.  I would request you post on this thread what you've done or sent; that will inspire others and may help prevent duplication of effort.

4) Calls to the detaining institutions can be helpful I think, especially during the first hours of a detention.

5)  I would want to keep a token amount of money in a commissary account but not enough to enrich them even slightly.  You can put a bit in but make sure there aren't 10 other people doing the same and accidentally winding up with 200 bucks in there or something.

6) Keep this thread updated on my status or transcribe and publish/broadcast my letters.

If none of these action items float your boat I hope you'll do whatever constructive thing crosses your mind.   And share it with this forum.  The "Free State Foreign Legion" link may give you some ideas:

The shortcut is "RidleyReport.com/Legion"

Many thanks for that which you may be about to do....and to all of you who've already helped.

---begin update from August 19, 2011---

My lawyer Seth Hipple is still negotiating with them to try and get the charges filed away with no action.  But trial is still set for Aug. 25 as is a protest that day.  And I may have to appear regardless of the negotiations' status. See the NHFree.com calendar.

Biden toughs seize NH reporter...you're invited to trial 8/25

Dear NH liberty folk:  You're invited to my protest and possible trial. It's 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25th in Nashua:

http://nhunderground.com/forum/index.php?topic=23192.msg337723#msg337723

The Obama Administration promised you transparency. What you're getting instead is journalists like me arrested and groped for "leaving the scene too slowly" when its emissaries visit the state.
Authorities blinded you, my viewers, from seeing what was going on outside Joe Biden's vist in May.  They took me out, took out your eyes on the scene.  If this troubles you, drop by the trial and let it be known with your presence.   If you can't be there in person, here's how to help from afar:

AKA RidleyReport.com/Legion

Many thanks for what you already do in defense of freedom.

Calendar entry for protest and court event

Who:  Dave Ridley from RidleyReport.com & supporters
What:  Indie reporter on trial after Biden videotaping attempt.
When:  10:30 am August 25th (that's when the protest starts, I think the trial is set for about two hours later).
Where:  Nashua District Court, 25 Walnut St., Nashua New Hampshire
   http://mapq.st/qjL04c
Why:  I'm charged with Class B misdemeanor "criminal trespass."  Police did not like the speed at which I was following their orders to leave the outskirts of a vice presidential visit.
How: Protest will be outside the court and need not be on court property.  I'd also recommend civility toward the authorities.   I won't pay the fine if one is levied.  I guess if I get arrested on the spot for that I might sing We Shall Overcome. You're invited to join the song.

If you can't be there, here are ways you can help from a distance:
http://RidleyReport.com/Legion

Note:  The court appearance had originally been scheduled for early morning. So I had originally scheduled an early protest.  But the time is now changed as noted above.

I'm going to lock this thread and direct discussion to the main thread at
http://nhunderground.com/forum/index.php?topic=22849.0
There you'll find more details and the video of the incident.

Dave Ridley

Moved the protest up to 10:30.  I may  be tied down with processes after 11 am.

Happy to see this!

I wonder what the total cost (police, administration, upkeep of the facility, court workers, etc.)  to take you to court costed the taxpayers?

I'll put it to these MF (My Friends) just like this:

http://christopher-king.blogspot.com/2011/08/kingcast-laughs-as-dave-ridley-kicks.html

26 AUGUST 2011

KingCast laughs as Dave Ridley kicks Nashua PD's ass on bogus criminal trespassing charges, Mike Gannon and Pamela Reynolds will come next.

And it's not just §1983, read this as Nashua PD continue to violate Civil Rights:

In addition to 42 U.S.C. §1983 there is also 42 U.S.C. §14141.....

http://christopher-king.blogspot.com/2011/08/nashua-nh-police-department-has-no.html

22 AUGUST 2011

Nashua, NH Police Department has no documents indicating they reviewed a clear cut case of forgery and wire fraud, so KingCast gives them a Mulligan to get it right.

From the FBI website linked on the front page:

"The FBI is the lead federal agency for investigating color of law abuses, which include acts carried out by government officials operating both within and beyond the limits of their lawful authority. Off-duty conduct may be covered if the perpetrator asserted his or her official status in some way.

During 2009, the FBI investigated 385 color of law cases. Most of these crimes fall into five broad areas:

Excessive force;
Sexual assaults;
False arrest and fabrication of evidence;
Deprivation of property; and
Failure to keep from harm.

Excessive force: In making arrests, maintaining order, and defending life, law enforcement officers are allowed to use whatever force is "reasonably" necessary. The breadth and scope of the use of force is vast—from just the physical presence of the officer...to the use of deadly force. Violations of federal law occur when it can be shown that the force used was willfully "unreasonable" or "excessive."

Sexual assaults by officials acting under color of law can happen in jails, during traffic stops, or in other settings where officials might use their position of authority to coerce an individual into sexual compliance. The compliance is generally gained because of a threat of an official action against the person if he or she doesn't comply.

False arrest and fabrication of evidence: The Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right against unreasonable searches or seizures. A law enforcement official using authority provided under the color of law is allowed to stop individuals and, under certain circumstances, to search them and retain their property. It is in the abuse of that discretionary power—such as an unlawful detention or illegal confiscation of property—that a violation of a person's civil rights may occur.

Fabricating evidence against or falsely arresting an individual also violates the color of law statute, taking away the person's rights of due process and unreasonable seizure. In the case of deprivation of property, the color of law statute would be violated by unlawfully obtaining or maintaining a person's property, which oversteps or misapplies the official's authority."

Respectfully submitted this 18th day of August, 2011.
