I thought this case had been mentioned here when it happened, but I couldn't find it.

Anyway, a Detroit mother refused to allow CPS and police to seize her 13 year old daughter and forcibly medicate the child. CPS claimed she was abusing the girl by taking her off of psychotropic medication. Police claimed she shot at them, which she denies.

In a ruling that's rather surprising, not only were all charges against her dismissed, the judge called the CPS seizure process unconstitutional.

We usually call it "rubber stamping" when judges sign off on warrants without questioning them, or even reading them. In Detroit, the warrants were literally rubber-stamped: CPS used their own rubber stamp of a judge's signature to "sign" their warrants, without even bothering to take them to a judge.
