Unable to pay child support, poor parents land behind bars

Jailing and suspending licenses for people, mainly fathers, who get behind in their child support payments is inefficient, unfair, and sucks.
Another thing that sucks is someone who has the ability to support a child that they made and  doesn't do it.

And another thing that sucks is someone who has the ability and willingness to support a child, but isn't allowed to do anything other than send a check every month.

There are terrible anecdotes on all sides of the issue. People will be responsible, or they won't. Government involvement only makes things worse.

And then there is the interpersonal warfare where the 'state' enables people to use children as weapons.
