White House press secretary Jay Carney says President Obama's proclamation for a monument in the swing state of Virginia today will create jobs. It is estimated that 3,000 jobs will be created.

At first, Carney says the claim that this project would create jobs first came from the state of Virginia. However, Carney then says Obama believes this project will be a "job creator."

Ed Henry, FOX News: "How does the White House back up the claim that this will create 3,000 jobs?"

Jay Carney, White House: "The jobs claim here, that the expectation that jobs will be created as a result to this designation actually were not made by us, [but] by local officials in Virginia, including I believe the Governor. So, I would suggest that the Speaker [Boehner] take it up with them. The President believes very strongly that jobs will be created. How many, I think we rely on the local officials to project, but he believes this is an action that he can and should take. That is inherently good because of the designation and also is a job creator."

The creator of the most jobs in the United States over the last decade was Osama Bin Laden.  Because of him, we have employed hundreds of thousands of domestic security personnel as well as the increased military forces and support jobs that were needed to prosecute two wars.  Unfortunately, irrespective of whether we should have made all or even some of those expenditures, they were all non-productive in nature, meaning that their economic impact was to distribute tax money to people who otherwise would not have received it.

"Green jobs" are also unproductive, and infrastructure construction jobs do not reach a point of positve return for decades, if ever.  Without the employment boost from our reaction to Bin Laden in addition to the subsidized creation of green jobs, we might already have reached a level of sustained unemployment that might have triggered protests several years ago.

Sometimes I can't help myself and I click on a link to the 'trainwreck' that is Lyndsay Lohan. Yesterday she was sentenced to 30 days in jail.......except for this:

Officials say Lohan will likely be released from her 30-day sentence almost immediately due to overcrowding at the jail.
However, if Lohan violates the terms of her new probation, a warrant will be issued for her arrest and she will be forced to serve another 270 days in jail.

Speaking of dirty old men. It's been a long time since I watched the Mickey Mouse Club so I first heard of LL and that idiot hillbilly flash in the pan singer who was in the news for a couple of years until their breast enlargement was announced.
So....I go and take a look. Of course they were too big So...I can't stop wondering what they used to look like. Then after a while they get kind of skaggy and I don't care.
