Recruiting idea

Here's a thought (may not be an original idea, but it is to me):

Obviously, the more freedom loving folks that enlist in the ranks of the FSP, the better.  Has any thought been given to recruitment drives IN New Hampshire?  It seems like it would be an easy sell:  1) The already freedom-leaning attitudes of a large number of the populace, & 2) As soon as you sign a new member up, they're already located where we need them, & 3) More long-time locals in our organization would go a long way toward mitigating the whole "outsiders-taking-over-our-state" phobia.    Just find folks who are cool with the whole ZAP deal, want to do a little sumpin-sumpin activism, and have them bring a friend.

Emphasis could be made to potential members that becoming a Porcupine is NOT tantamount to joining a political party, but instead is uniting wiith an ever-growing group of kick-ass freedom fighters who're making things happen in their towns and counties.

This could counteract the miasma of stagnation that seems to be creeping inexorably over the FSP as time passes.  An injection of hundreds, if not thousands, of new people who don't have to worry about finding jobs (they already got them), shitty weather (they're already surrounded by shitty weather), etc.

Seems like a win-win situation to me.

P.S. If this is somehow a new and innovative idea and gains avalanche-like momentum leading to a mass influx of new members, I want it called "The Dude Initiative"

What's wrong with our weather.... :)

From the FSP website:

Q: Are people from New Hampshire allowed to sign up, and will they count toward 20,000?

A: Our new supporters from New Hampshire will not count toward the 20,000 members, because our research on the effects of 20,000 activists assume that current in-state support is not sufficient. People from New Hampshire who signed up before the vote will still be considered as part of the 20,000, since they originally agreed to move to at least one other state, though they'll be only a small portion of our membership.

Although New Hampshire residents are not included in the member count, they are still encouraged to subscribe to our announcement list, participate in our communities and events, and network with fellow Free Staters. New Hampshire residents can now register officially as New Hampshire Free State Pioneers.

So much for The Dude Initiative...I already had a T-Shirt designed.

There's no reason not to recruit people to nhfree or the nhla or the lsf or whatever else.  They just won't count as FSP recruits.

Yeah, i think the NH weather is wonderful and i moved from TX!

However I boo koo like the dude's thinking, dude you are major asset to have on this forum!

Dreepa

I agree.
The key is freedom people in NH.
We just need to help some people become active.  I know I wasn't an 'activist' until I found out there were more people like me.
Or maybe now I am becoming more like them. :o

If you're not careful Dreepa, you find you've got this insane impulse to burn things  :o

That's called pyromania, not activism.

Natural?

Russell Kanning

Exactly :)

I use to not hate the government so much .... but then they got worse.

One of my biggest problems with the FSP is that LOCALS should be allowed to join as members.  That's in line with the research on the Silent Revolution of Quebec, of which my wife had first-hand experience.

The research does NOT say anyone moved to Quebec.   ::)

JonM

The FSP exists to recruit people to move to New Hampshire.  The Underground, the NHLA, and whatever groups that will do the activism need to gather those FSP recruits as well as natives.

I don't care what the FSP is.  I care about what it should be.

The FSP's mission contradicts its foundational research.
