New Warden Nominated to Manage State Prison in Berlin

(Concord, NH) New Hampshire Department of Corrections William L. Wrenn announced that he is recommending the nomination of Edward Reilly of Eaton, New Hampshire, for the new Warden of the Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility (NCF) in Berlin. The nomination was put forward at the regular Governor's Council meeting on December 14, 2011.

Mr. Eaton is a Subject Matter Expert on Correctional Matters with the Office of Detention Policy and Planning for Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He was previously the Facility Director of the Varick Federal Detention Center in New York and the Sheriff of the Nassau County Correctional Center. Prior to this position he worked for the New York City Department of Correction in many capacities beginning in 1972.

Mr. Reilly is a graduate of Fordham University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He also holds a Masters of Education/Curriculum and a Teaching degree and is currently a candidate for a Masters in English Literature degree at Queens College in New York.

Commissioner Wrenn said, "Mr. Reilly has a proven record of dedicated involvement and professionalism in the field of Corrections."

NCF is a medium-minimum security prison that houses approximately 600 male inmates and employs 160 staff. It began operations in 2000.
