It has been five months since Edward and Elaine Browns' trial concluded in the United States District Court. They have been tried, convicted, and sentenced to a 63 month term of imprisonment in the United States Bureau of Prisons, and there are active warrants for their arrest.

During those five months, the United States Marshals Service has made every effort to convince the Browns to turn themselves in and to stop threatening the use of violence towards law enforcement officers. We have communicated regularly with them since they first failed to appear in court after the trial began; we sent them a letter following their sentencing on April 24th, 2007; and we sent another letter on Friday, June 15, 2007, again urging them to peacefully surrender.

On June 7, 2007, we executed a seizure order on the commercial property in W. Lebanon, and we have shut off utilities to the property in Plainfield. These additional steps were taken to have the Browns understand the need to turn themselves in.

The U.S. Marshals Service is committed to resolving this peacefully. Edward and Elaine Brown can end this today by doing the right thing, which is to call us and make arrangements for their surrender.

Ruby Ridge leader visits New Hampshire tax evaders

By PHILIP ELLIOTT
ASSOCIATED PRESS WRITER

PLAINFIELD, N.H. -- Randall Weaver, the symbol of everything the government hopes to avoid with convicted tax evaders Ed and Elaine Brown, offered advice to the fugitives and warnings to federal agents at the Browns' fortified home Monday afternoon.

Weaver's wife and son and a deputy U.S. marshal were killed during the infamous Ruby Ridge shootout with federal agents in Idaho in 1992. He visited the Browns' hilltop home on Monday to raise the specter of the botched federal raid and lend his name to the tax evaders' cause.

"We said, 'This is it, we're not going to take it any more' ... This is serious stuff. Bring it on," Weaver said during a news conference on the Browns' front porch. "I ain't afraid of dying no more. I'm curious about the afterlife. And I'm an atheist."

During the sometimes hostile news conference that had Weaver and Ed Brown shouting insults at reporters, the speakers and their supporters repeated their claims that income taxes are voluntary, and any tax on labor amounts to slavery.

"The bottom line is: Show us the law, we will pay what you ask," Ed Brown said. "They can't do it, folks."

The Browns' home, which he calls a castle, has 8-inch concrete walls, a turret that offers a 360-degree view of the property and a driveway that is sometimes barricaded with SUVs. The 110-acre compound is self-sufficient and is capable of running entirely through solar, wind and geothermal energies.

Weaver said he would help the Browns fight "only in self-defense."

"I've been shot in the back and that's no fun," said Weaver, who brought pictures of his slain family to the podium.

Officials cut power last week in an effort to ratchet up pressure on the couple convicted of conspiring to avoid federal income taxes by hiding $1.9 million of income between 1996 and 2003. The Browns said they hadn't noticed.

Ed Brown has threatened "guerrilla warfare" and retaliation against those who played a role in his conviction. He has said he resigned to become a martyr for what prosecutors called novel interpretations of tax law during his trial, which he skipped.

The Browns' claim that the federal income tax is not legitimate has drawn support from so-called "patriot" and militia groups. Supporters from as far away as Texas also have brought weapons and supplies. One has posted photographs on the Internet of himself posing with automatic riffles.

The Browns were joined Monday by several of their supporters, waving "Don't Tread on Me" flags and "Don't Murder the Browns for Money" signs.

It's this support that prompted a panic in Plainfield two weeks ago, when heavily armed police surrounded the Browns' home, cut off phone and Internet service and seized commercial property the couple owned in a neighboring town. SWAT teams, military and explosives vehicles marshaled in the tiny town and sparked rumors - and expectations - of a raid. Neighbors were rousted from their homes and planes flying overhead were ordered away.

U.S. marshals said it was only for surveillance, but Brown said the less-than-covert show of force was intended to swarm the property.

"He's lying through his teeth about several things," Brown said. "Did I think the raid was imminent? Yeah. I was notified that they were on their way."

The authorities were seen by a Brown supporter who was walking a dog. When Danny Riley saw camouflaged scouts in the woods near the driveway, officers took him into custody in an unsuccessful effort to stem a panic.

Since then, officials have cut phone service and electricity for the Browns. But cell phone service sometimes works, and the home has the potential to produce its own electricity through wind and solar sources.

Brown has declared membership as a United States Constitution Ranger, claiming he has more law enforcement authority than local, state or federal police.

"If they decide to make that move against me, go ahead," Brown said in past interviews. "Watch. It ain't going to be as easy as they think it's going to be. Believe me."

U.S. marshals have said any hope for a bloody and scandalous confrontation in Plainfield will only end in disappointment. Federal agents have been living in the shadow of the disastrous 1993 standoff with a cult compound in Waco, Texas. After 51 days, the FBI shot tear gas into the Branch Davidian compound, accidentally starting a fire and killing 80 cult members.

Marshals have refused to physically engage with Brown. They have daily telephone conversations, which sometimes include Brown's rants against the Illuminati, Freemasons and what he says are bogus federal laws. But marshals insist there are no plans to raid the home.

this part was troubling:

"Selectmen recently sent a letter to federal officials stating that they believe the time has come for definitive action."

Great! Let's have some "definitive action", not in that the bullets start flying, but just look at the very definition of this definitive word: 1. precisely outlining, and the word: precise= 4. "Conforming strictly to rule" and so in this case Fed buddies: ver are yer papahs?  :inspect: as in those RSA Ch. 123:1 papers that are supposed to be filed with Bill Gardner's Office of Secretary of State as from Art.I,Sec.8,cl.17 U.S. Const.. I congratulate Sen. Peter Hoe Burling for his report that neither the local Plainfield Police nor the Sullivan County Sheriff were notified of this raid or stake-out at the end of Ed's driveway that Thursday, June 7th.

Plus see definition #2 for definitive of: Determining finally, like yeah! governor with the bug repelent on against the no see-ums so as not to get onto his radar screen, to maybe now wake up from your zombie state and ask your Secretary of State to either: (1) greet the Feds as having complied with 1-8-17 and 123:1 of Fed-State Relations (as there IS a House Committee on this VERY subject, but that they REFUSED to get involed!) with a handshake, or; (2) assert your Art. 41+51 powers to be the check-and-balance against this federal corruption, even though you're like a lap dog sucking-up to the Feds for all their candy-coated federal funds.  One of our Founding Fathers tells you in that latter case to get down on your knees and lick the hand that feeds you! [same statement just heard from Randy Weaver on WMUR-TV Channel 9 @ 11:00 p.m. tonight]. LIVE FREE OR DIE. (our State Motto).

Definition #3 for definitive is: Designating a work that can stand as the most authorative on its subject.  Just because Ed did a lousy job in court by SAYing the magic numbers 123:1 (as I heard him say that), the fact that he didn't present the documentation in the form of the certificate of non-filing to the judge as evidence to be marked as an exhibit for the jury to weigh as an element in making their decision or verdict, does not mean that the requirement by the shall word goes away.  It's still there for "law enforcement" in this state to assert AGAINST the Feds!  So do it!

Note: The City of Lebanon did not DO it!  Instead they let the Feds lock up the Glen Road property.  They let the Feds trample on Ed's Art. 12 right for protection.  I scoulded the Mayor, his Assisant and City Councilors, and now Mike Roberts, Police Detective there is NOT investigating this RSA 123:1 but of HOW I did deliver my anger in the form of an e-mail saying: WISE UP OR DIE!  He called me from, his 448-1813 phone today, that I returned the call, him wanting to know HOW one Councilor is going to die, as so upsetting to her.  I said: I don't know how she's going to die! That's up to her and her God or god, or goddess, etc. under her own Article 5 religious rights. He thinks I KNOW something beyond belief, and wants to charge me with Criminal Threatening, but has to get me to fill in the blank.  What does he think I am, a fortune teller!?

Yours truly, - - Joe Haas

footnote #1 to: that Kevin Flynn, staff "opinion" segment reported as fact from Stephen Black of FPLC/ Franklin Pierce Law Center, in Concord with NO rebuttle, in that of: 1.) "voluntary" assessment, not voluntary payment, that: 2. you "have to pay" by the 16th Amendment, for 3.) all citizens.  What a bunch of crap!  1.) First off the forms sent to you by the IRS have to have the OMB# on them from the Office of Management & Budget, that if not there you can declare such to be bootleg and send it to the trash pile. 2.) Second is that the 16th says to "lay and collect", to lay is either to 7. apply, or 12. impose (page 401 from The AMERICAN HERITAGE DICTIONARY, to apply is 5. To make a request" (page 34 of this (c)1973 dictionary), and to impose is to levy (p. 355), and to levy is to collect, so by the very nature of the phrase it's not to collect and collect, as that would be redundant, and so it has to be the former of to request, as in request: denied, and why? Because 3.) Thirdly it's not this citizen/ non-citizen bullshit, but are you a federal government employee or not?, the former wanting to dilute their obligations so trying to foist it upon us in the private sector.  The President issues an E.O. (Executive Order) to the Secretary of the Treasury who issues his T.O. (Treasury Order), and get this: they are NEVER published in the CFR/ Code of Federal Regulations, and as such is NOT there, it does NOT apply to us in the private sector, but that "all" word for all federal government employees! Case closed or should be.  Let Ed have a re-trial with legal counsel to let the Feds have it with both barrels.  McAuliffe to declare a mis-trial as by there being no jurisdiction per the 123:3 non-filing by them, and so to get this case and the common denominator for everybody back on the track to the station for a real Fourth of July fireworks! with meaning as freedom from tyranical government that is running amuk.  Thank you Ed & Elaine for this do or die stand.

footnote #2:  So to send the link to this page to News9Investigates at WMUR.com to see if they'll investigate and run a correction after the next broadcast?

this part was troubling:

"Selectmen recently sent a letter to federal officials stating that they believe the time has come for definitive action."

Were the selectmen calling for direct action or complaining that they weren't in the loop?

QuoteU.S. marshals recently held a stakeout near the Browns' property, and the letter expressed concern that no local officials knew about it, according to state Sen. Peter Burling.

"The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office knew nothing, and the Plainfield police chief, who is superb, had no warning at all," Burling said.

A few notes.

There was an African-American reporter to whom Ed Brown was referring. I think he was from WBZ, but I talked to so many reporters, I'm not entirely sure right now.

The AP article came out not too bad. Bill (Bald Eagle) gave him a good talking-to about how income tax and the government are nothing more than a mob who steals your money. It was fun to watch.

I talked to CNN, and if you saw me, I'd be very appreciative if you would point me toward a YouTube clip.

All I can say is wow. All of that work by Brown and Weaver to set this up and get the word out that the income tax is illegal was shot down in about two minutes by WMUR last night. They found one lawyer dip chit to interview who shot down everything they said. No one at all the refute what he said. Just one dude making the Browns look like idiots. All I kept thinking was someone out there trying to protect their arse as they start to feel the pressure. America was curious, I can hear them now after watching the press conference of the Browns, "what is this honey we don't have to pay? we need to look into this and see if its true" Then the news comes on and says go back to sleep Mrs and Mr America this guy says you do have to pay and everything is as you were taught. You all know I have said all along that the Browns just want to be martyrs and the Marshalls are doing a good job. I still think the Marshalls are doing a good job, but am starting to think that this thing may actually be as they say. Why else would the people that run WMUR try so hard to squash whatever momentum this press conference got going for the Browns? It was the most biased piece Ive ever seen. I fully expected this whole thing to leave everything up in the air for me, nothing saying I do have to pay, and nothing saying I don't have to pay so I'll continue to keep paying until I see something that says I legally don't have to pay. I'm starting to think the one thing I can agree with the Browns about is that we don't have to pay, and this whole thing is about to blow up in the faces of the private banks that run this country. Still think the Browns are wrong for how they went about it, and that he is a moron for threatening lives of innocents like he did yesterday once again, but this message of the income tax being strictly voluntary is started to look a lot more accurate. Is the Media this controlled? Apparently so.

Kat Kanning

LOL, the Keene Sentinel wanted a story about yesterday from us.  Russell just laughed his head off at him - told him he got scooped by everyone else.  Russell wouldn't tell him anything, said to read our article.

You probably didn't see me in the WMUR segment. Even though I spoke with them, it's pretty much impossible to find anyone who will contradict me and say the income tax is moral.

ABC Covers Ed and Elaine Brown's Press Conference
http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/june2007/180607Conference.htm
RUSSELL GOLDMAN
ABC
Monday June 18, 2007

Comment: Local news channel WMUR has a report on the conference. As we expected they jumped on the fact that Ed Brown initially waited for the Alex Jones show to comeback from break before beginning the conference, stating "Ed Brown held a phone conversation simultaneously". A portion of the Conference can be viewed at this local ABC website. We will post a youtube of the full conference as soon as it becomes available.

Calling the federal agents surrounding his fortified compound "guns for hire," a New Hampshire man convicted of tax evasion vowed today that he and his wife would fight U.S. marshals to the death if they tried to capture them.

"Do not under any circumstances make any attempt on this land. We will not accept any tomfoolery by any criminal element, be it federal, state or local," said Ed Brown in a press conference from the stoop of his concrete-clad home in Plainfield, N.H. "We either walk out of here free or we die."

Brown and his wife, Elaine, were sentenced in absentia in April to serve 63 months in prison for failing to pay more than $1 million in income tax.

The couple, however, insists that there is no law that requires citizens to pay income tax.

"There is no law. We looked and looked," Brown told the press.

Brown and his supporters, including Randy Weaver, leader of the 1992 standoff with ATF agents at Ruby Ridge, Idaho, told the press that the government has unlawfully tricked people into believing they have to pay income tax, knowing full well that such a law would be unconstitutional.

"We will defend it to the death. This is 1776 all over again. You cannot tax someone's labor because that is slavery," Brown said.

Carrying a pistol in his waistband, Brown also insisted that he could not receive a fair trial in a federal court because "the court system falls under freemasonry."

"There [are] no longer any lawful courts. The Freemasons have taken over our nation. ... [Freemasons want] to take over our nation and all nations on the planet," Brown said.

Weaver, whose son was killed by federal agents and who later received a $100,000 settlement from the government, said he was there to support the Browns.

"I'd rather die on my feet right here than die on my knees under this de facto government," he said. "Bring it on."

Despite months of surveillance and reports of agents hiding in the woods of the couple's 110-acre compound, U.S. marshals said this morning that the Brown's Plainfield, N.H., home was not surrounded by their officers.

U.S. Marshal Stephen Monier made an effort to starkly contrast the actions of the Marshals with those of the ATF agents who besieged Ruby Ridge in 1992. In addition to Weaver's son, one federal agent was killed in that incident.

"There is no standoff and the house is not surrounded." Monier told ABC News.com. "We have no intention of assaulting the house or engaging in a violent confrontation."

Monier said he believed Weaver would attend the press conference the Browns are hosting this afternoon. He said Weaver and others -- some of whom are believed to have brought the couple weapons -- have been freely allowed to enter Brown's property.

"There is no reason to block Weaver. People are free to exercise their First Amendment rights," Monier said. "We are not setting up roadblocks or surrounding the house."

In April, Ed and Elaine Brown were sentenced in absentia to 63 months in prison for failing to pay more than $1 million in taxes.

Since failing to appear in court the couple has remained within the concrete-fortified walls of their rural New Hampshire home.

Monier said the Marshals have been communicating with the couple in an effort to get them to turn themselves over the federal authorities without having to resort to the use of force.

"We know they have weapons and we do not want to see this escalate," he said.

Last week agents cut off the home's telephone, Internet and power access. Monier said the couple most likely had generators -- possibly solar or wind powered -- but that eventually the Browns would become uncomfortable enough in their isolation that they would be forced to surrender.

"They probably have generators but those will soon need fuel and need people to fix them. We want to continue to encourage them, and make it uncomfortable enough for them that they'll give up."

Brown said he and his wife had enough supplies to wait out the government no matter how long it lasted. He said the couple did not use air conditioning and could chop down trees from firewood.

Last week, Danny Riley a friend of the Browns was arrested near their home by federal agents while walking the couple's dog.

The Marshals claim they were engaged in routine surveillance of the property, but the Browns believe Riley thwarted a potential raid.
