In that interview with Lauren, you were recapping about every 10 seconds.   :o

I am very glad that you guys are taking calls from the Kelo 7 + 1 and covering the topic. I love it that we can hear things from thier own mouths and that it is archived. :)

Thanks everyone for the critique.  What you're experiencing is endemic of listening to an archived radio show.

While it may seem like 10 seconds, it's actually just every time we come back from break.  And actually, we keep it fairly short.  Remember, radio listeners are tuning in and out ALL of the time.  This is a major clash between broadcast radio and podcasts.

Podcast listeners typically listen to the whole show, start to finish, and can pause when they need to do something else.

Radio listeners are mostly in their cars, and listen to you because you're there when they are.

Good radio shows recap.  Since radio is where the money is, we have to focus the broadcast there for now.  Hopefully the bonus of not having any commercial breaks in the podcast/archives helps make up for this annoyance.

By the way, if you'd like less recapping, there is something you can do.  Contribute to our AMP program at http://amp.freetalklive.com .  We haven't announced this yet, but once we reach about $5k monthly AMP dollars (Over 10% of the way there!), we will be cutting our commercial time by 12.5%.  This means we can restructure our breaks and have longer segments, and one less recap!

Need I mention that less commercials means more radio listeners, and therefore more people hearing about NHFree.com?

;D

Also, we're more likely to recap when we have someone (like Lauren) on for more than one segment, and that only happens from time to time.   :P

So Lauren, how did the process of talking to the reporter and such get started?
Did you contact them or did they come to you?
They said that your court date was going to be 10/7. Why did they move it up a few days?
Did they ever fingerprint you?

Ethan Rouen, reporter for "The Day" took an interest in my case. I don't know how or why.
I was able to call my huband briefly in my first paddy wagon ride but after that I never got a phone call, or even pencil and paper in jail.
I was always told that my trial was Oct 4th.
They never got my fingerprints or SSN. :)

It drives me crazy. It's why I fast-forward through most of the show, and only listen to the segments I want to hear.
There's waaaaaay too much talk-over. It comes off like a Morning Zoo show.
Taxpayer Radio is at the other extreme; it could use some perking up. Somewhere in the middle would be good for both shows. :)

I completely agree there. Both shows are excellent but complete opposites in terms of presentation. NHTaxpayer Radio has a lot of excellent content and not a lot of perk (although they do a good job of trying with witty jokes and Ed Naile is just awesome!). Free Talk Live is definitely not a show you can fall asleep too although the repetition can sometimes cause you to tune out and the content isn't always that original in the sense that it's just recaping other news, rarely something originally (usually only when someone calls in). I'm an FTL AMPlifier because I support the message and want others to learn about liberty.

What is the current status of mediation? I assume the NLDC board members did not resign.
Yea .... they are still blowing smoke.
Good news is that the Kelo 7+1 are still in thier homes.

Kat Kanning

I don't know, but he appears to be at work already:

Joplin Cares About People Of New London

Published on 10/7/2005

Letters To The Editor:
I am writing about my uncle and godfather, Michael Joplin, president of the New London Development Corp. I would like to say something positive about him amidst all of the negative comments I have been reading and hearing. He has a wonderful wife and a beautiful daughter and has always been there for my family through thick and thin.

I know that many people disagree about what he is doing in the NLDC, but people should know that he is selfless and has always looked out for the betterment of others.

He is an extremely intelligent man and, in the long run, the people of New London will benefit greatly, not only from the changes he has already made, but also from the changes he is proposing to make.

Ahhh, he's "selfless", is he?  Impossible!
