They are busy trying to get 20K people to come.  And that requires ballancing on a tight rope and not taking too much of a public offical stand on things that might harm the chances of bringing 20K people in the first place.  Give them a break and go out and DO freedom yourself.  What is stopping you?

'They' are busy?

I am actually really disappointed in the recruiting efforts.
There seems to be no organization in regards to recruiting.  There was a secret halfhearted attempt with the AA.
I know it is everyone's job but...some people need direction and training on how to recruit. I think that the best way to get people is to energize the people right after they sign up ( I mean they are excited right?  Not like someone who signed up 2 years ago and forgot about us)  Tell them that they are supposed to sign up 3 people.  Help them sign up three people.

That SHOULD be the only focus of the FSP.  Get people signed up and get them moving...

I've done my 3 and am working on 10 right now.

I don't expect anyone to help me.  The FSP stands up for itself in principle alone.  I do hope they don't stick their feet in their mouths.  Everyone has a different idea where this bus is going to finally stop.  I just concentrate on the direction it is heading and what it is headed away from when I solicit new members.  Specifics only hurt the effort to sign them up.  We want grown-up freedom activists -not babies who want their hands held.

I am not saying handholding I mean teaching.  Some people need to be taught how to be an activist.
I just want more concentrated and focused recruiting.

BTW-- Congrats on the 3 good luck on 10th... that is what I mean!!!

Seriously, if you want to discuss better ways to do FSP recruiting, I have this nifty forum that exists primarily for that purpose you could use.  Please, could you use it?  Pretty please?

What the hell, Jon? You're the one who posted a teasing messag that Amanda stated in a private email to you that there was an error in that article, but you refused to provide more specifics.  You posted it here, not on the FSP forum.  I was asking you, as well as the others who follow this issue closely, for followup.  :P

JonM

I emailed her about it, she said she had a long converation with the reporter, and he slanted it.  Not much more to it from here to report.

Why would you want anti-gun people here anyway?

Think'in they could be 90% freedom lovers in need of a little education.  You don't actually believe all of the 2 amendment types would allow you to smoke dope, do you?

Seems quiet in New London .... must be a good sign. Noone has been kicked out of their houses.
pssst .... don't tell the bad guys that Lauren will be in Keene on Saturday.

I got this link in a PERC email newsletter today - it's excellent.

What does the abuse of eminent domain mean to you? At a recent PERC luncheon, Chip Mellor, president of the Institute for Justice, the organization that took the Kelo vs. New London case to the Supreme Court, discussed the impact of the decision on towns and cities across the country. You can listen to an audio tape of his presentation (or read about it in the Big Sky Business Journal ) by going to www.perc.org/publications/interview/chipmellor_audio.php.

Hi, Lauren here, resident of the embattled Ft. Trumbull neighborhood of New London, Connecticut.  Day 65.

Property owners here seem optimistic this week, they may being offered higher prices to move out. A state arbitrator has reportedly been talking numbers with the home owners directly.  Bill Von Winkle says he quoted a price that was outrageously high but the arbitrator didn't dismiss it.  "Then", Bill said, "I tacked on another half a million because the NLDC was mean to me".  So the Kelo report may come to an agreeable conclusion in the near future.

This weekend I'm asking the residents for pictures and stories they would like to see on the neighborhood message board, or as I consider it "The Shrine Of The Magnificent Seven".  I couldn't critisize any of the Kelo 7 for selling out, they've suffered for five years - but I'm encouraging all to continue their resistance.  I can offer cash for rent, glory on the message board, and obstinance in the face of bullies.

Correction, the Guretskys who sold their Ft. Trumbull triplex to NLDC two weeks ago ARE one of the Kelo 7.

Russell Kanning

Hopefully they will be offered enough and can just leave.

Then New London will just be left with the usual central planning woes that the taxpayers will feel.

The new neighborhood message board was visited this week by Mr. Booker of the New London Development Corp.  He stopped his jeep in the street, walked up to the message board with a vexed expression and checked it's sturdiness by shaking it.  My original plan was to fly a gadsden flag from the board's flagpole, but with possible destruction looming I put up the stars and stripes hoping to make any patriotic bulldozer operator think twice about driving it into the ground.  I was so tickled to hear of the NLDC officer's consternation that if this board gets demolished I'll return to home depot for lumber and make another.

Do you ever stop by the nldc offices and size up the rooms and such?
Maybe ask what the features are since you know somebody that is looking for space to lease.8)
