So how did we get here from the Kelo report?

Lauren, I'm curious: did Ian get your permission before essentially using your name and financial contribution as an endorsement for his radio program??

Before I signed up I looked at the list of contributors and saw Lloyd's name.  Knowing what a devoted activist he is I wanted to emulate him, and use my real name - like he did - in hope of inspiring friendly rivalries.

Ian didn't ask permission to reprint info voluteered into the FTL contributors page.  Ha! he's playing right into my hands.

Lawlessness in Fort Trumbull.

Yes, that's right.? Brazen lawlessness in our little economically-distressed community.? This time those Fort Trumbull losers have finally gone too far.? Way too far!? As the live, 24-hour-per-day web cams at http://66.212.210.243:8080/ reveal, these S.O.B.s have now taken the quasi-governmentally owned property at 19, 21 & 23 Smith St., New London, CT, and festooned it with Christmas lights, decorations, etc.? ? These scum have placed Santa on top of the center chimney, Snow People and reindeer upon the roof, gift wrapped all the boarded up windows, etc.? Stockings have been hung with care along the porch, each containing a lump of coal, and with the names "Claire," "Michael," "David," "Steve," "John" and "Peg" on them.? And as if that is not bad enough, they have placed a carefully-crafted portrait of the Holy Child directly in the middle of the whole display.? But it gets worse.? Not only has this property been desecrated, but those scrawny pine trees in front of the project signs on Parcel 3 have also been soiled with a polar-bear-family display, holiday candles, etc.?

I don't know about you, but I have had it with this crap.? The highest court in the land, using foreign courts' (particularly those in China, Cuba, Zimbabwe, the late Soviet Union and Mozambique) rulings for precedent, has ruled these whiners need to vacate, pronto.? But instead of just shutting up and leaving to make way for Pfizer (Life is our Life's Work), these pathetic losers have made a mockery of our legal system, especially the separation of church and quasi-governmental entities.?

Well I'm not going to sit by silently while these clowns trash the Rule of Law.? I pledge to contribute the first $0.50 to a fund to offer a reward to anyone providing information to the authorities which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.? ?I urge everyone receiving this message to do the same, as well as forwarding this to all your? friends.? I believe contributions can be mailed to:

Just Rewards Fund
c/o Adm. D. Goebel, Consultant
NLDC
165 State St.
New London, CT? 06320

And please be certain to use sufficient postage to prevent NLDC with being saddled with any potential postage due fees.

When the authorities arrive to tear down this desecration of quasi-public property, I will cheer as they rip down the lights, Santa, the Snow People, gift wrapping, choo-choo train, stockings, reindeer and the Holy Child portrait.? And I pray this will be captured on videotape for posterity.

president = Seth Cohn?  ???

Oh boy, a fan site all about me!!!!  Wow.  Thanks.

Anyone who doubts that president has mental issues, I think this settles the argument.

Added: BTW, he bought this back in July... this isn't even new.

It looks like as soon as seth found out about sethcohn.com he tried to have it taken down.

The purchaser of sethcohn.com has put up a site with photos of me on it, and emails, and has harassed me on other sites such as forums. (Same person, he posted a link to the site.) It's bordering on defamatory (I'm running for public office) as well, and it's certainly objectionable.

According to:
Prohibitions: Domains By Proxy will not do business with you, nor protect your identity, if you:
- Transmit spam, viruses or harmful computer programs;
- Violate the law or infringe a third party's trademark or copyright;
- Engage in morally objectionable activities, including but not limited to those which are child pornographic, defamatory, abusive, harassing, obscene, racist, or otherwise objectionable.

Does this qualify, and if so, what is the next step of action?

Seth didn't raise any objections to me. He even thanked me publicly.   :'(

The house at 19-23 Smith St. in the Fort Trumbull neighborhood of New London is shown Monday after it was decorated by neighbors who used 62 extension cords to light it. The house was formerly owned by the Guretsky family and is currently owned by the New London Development Corp.

Hi, Lauren here, resident of the embattled Ft. Trumbull neighborhood of New London, Connecticut.  Day 131.

Status of utilities:
electricity     On
gas             On
water           On
phone           On
cable           On

The Guretsky house down the street was sold to the NLDC, utilities were cut off, windows and doors boarded up, even the fuel oil tank was removed from the basement.  When the NLDC applied for a demolition permit we thought it was a goner.  Then last Saturday night the condemned home was quietly festooned with several sleighfuls of holiday decorations.

Another display popped up across the street in NLDC's big vacant lot.  Suddenly print and TV journalists were everywhere, they couldn't resist the sparkly scene rumored to be built by elves.  Visitors drive by with the kids to see the display.  Hearts are warmed.  Hopefully the demolition will be forgotten.

Be sure to look in on the web cam of Fort Trumbull at www.commandrix.com Monday Dec 26th at 5:30 PM.  There will be a christmas caroling event featuring professional singers and musicians, hot beverages and sweets.  Or come by in person if you're in the neighborhood of 19-23 Smith st. New London, CT, you may get to be on TV.

There's a letter to the editor in today's Day (local newspaper) that is concerned that the Kelo 7 are guilty of impoverishing the city of New London.  He asked for advice on dealing with the Fort Trumbull eminent domain logjam.

Please email him with your ideas.

Fort Trumbull Is Not Generating Revenue

Published on 1/7/2006
Letters To The Editor:
Sweeping water views or partially blocked water views ? it's not important what views the Kelo property has (?Letter perpetuated my on Fort Trumbull, not fact,? Jan. 3.). What is important is, this property is not generating tax revenue, and as a result, New London is suffering.
The article about new condo development in New London generating $200,000 in tax revenue is encouraging. However, I can't help but imagine how much revenue might have been collected if Fort Trumbull had been developed according to plan. Could it have represented another $10 million in assessments? At 28 mills, that equates to $2.8 million. Multiply that by a few years, and New London becomes a different place.
Police and city officials have noted that New London's police force has been weakened by budget cuts. We can reason that budget cuts result from revenue reductions, and tax revenues in New London have suffered for a variety of reasons, including lack of development at Fort Trumbull.
Could New London be a safer and more livable place if it weren't in financial trouble? Is it a stretch to link the increase in crime and in the city's decline to Fort Trumbull and its drain on city revenues?
This eminent domain case was based upon property-owner rights ? a valid concern ? but in this case a concern that had no right being sensationalized to the point of hysteria. Maybe I am cynical, but I feel my rights as a property owner are now being aversely affected.
It is time to move on with this project, for the good of New London and the region. What is the delay?
If anyone would like to discuss ways to encourage elected officials to move forward, e-mail me at bodonn3434@aol.com.

Lord, what a moron. Where do you begin? His rights as a property owner are being adversely affected because the FT development hasn't been finished?

I can't reply civilly to him. More power to those who can.
