Do you think the government guys will ever learn that the more they harass or imprison us, the more people want to move here and join our side?

In my haste to sketch a sign... I missed the "h" in "right"....
It was fixed after a half hour or so.

Jim mentioned phone calls may be more effective than sign waving at improving Lauren's treatment.

I will call again... what is the number, and who's the person to speak with?

FreeLaurenCanario.com does not appear to have been updated.

By the way, just to set the record straight, the police handled themselves in a very professional manner.
as well as they can while carrying a woman off against her will
I was going to state that I understood her not answering, but wanted to ask the motivation behind not opening her door and not moving. Going by your statement, I gather that it was simple lack of participation in her wrongful arrest/detention. Is this correct?

Oooh, that really burns my bottom. Here in Ohio, we have a duty to inform that is linked with our CHL. I have been VERY vehement that this is in direct violation of the Second Amendment to the Bill of Rights's "...shall not be infringed." I've had to debate my stance to policeman (somtimes on forums, once in person) and I always hear the same, "Well how am I to know...?" You've got five senses; pick one ;) Sorry you had to be treated like a criminal for exercising your right. Great job walking them through the logic that they would feel threatened if you touched your sidearm, so they shouldn't be touching theirs.

Quote from: JDouglasFisher on October 05, 2007, 02:41 AM NHFTShould she have a D.L.? Yes. Why, simple, it shows that she is competent enough to operate such a machine. Personally, I think you should be tested every 2 years to maintain your Driving Privileges only because I have seen WAY TOO MANY BAD drivers out there.
We must never accept punishment for what we MIGHT do or for what others have done. The moment you say that's okay is the moment they use it as an excuse to regulate... everything. Don't believe me? Take a look around you.

Quote from: JDouglasFisher on October 05, 2007, 03:21 AM NHFTTo have No Laws at all, is just pure anarchy, and to me, that is the ruination of society.
The ruination of our society is the toleration of ivory towers. Many politicians and lawmakers are safe atop their ivory towers from the very minefields they have created for the sole purpose of keeping us distratacted while attempting to father in us a dependency upon their directions. I am like you in that I sit on the outside of all this. However, those involved with nhfree.com, FSP, etc demonstrate how freedom and liberty is our salvation. Our founding fathers knew it and shed blood to establish it. Don't listen to the history books and don't take my word for it. Use your own eyes. Read about the Browns. Read the plights of Miss Canario. Then contrast that to the treatment they received from the people who represented the opposite of anarchy. It's not difficult to differentiate who the good people are.

Quote from: Bald Eagle on October 06, 2007, 10:50 AM NHFTThis incident helps to clearly establish that there is a separate, privileged ruling class, I don't know what does.
Without a doubt. I am an avid open carrier and in recent times, have been inundated with questions from my countrymen concerning it. The first question is always the same. They want to know if I belong to a specific, non-existent privileged class. I always say, "No, I'm a US citizen JUST LIKE YOU." Some even follow it up with a second guess at to what non-existent privileged class I might be a part of. It's really sad--out here anyways--how glazed over the minds are of the very people I'm open carrying to educate.

Frame, rollers of some kind, perhaps scruffed up PVC, pulley(s) motor and piece of rope to connect them.  Jim can do it.

I'm on board with the thing.  Who big should the thing be?

Kat's concept.  I was thinking a PVC, or something lighter rectangular frame, a little higher than the banner height,(sides could extend downward as legs)  and a little longer than the length of the longest word, Rollers with cheap metal bearings and axles, some cheap cast pulleys connected by a piece of cord(or a really big v belt), one of the axles driven by a motor, possibly hidden inside the scroll.  Perhaps a 'Good' cordless drill and some kind of reduction.  One of the axles needs to have some linear adjustment for the inevitable tracking problems.  All I got.

I would say ... yes.
I have decided to do some of the things the thugs ask me to do ... like walk around or get out of the car. I think it helps bring down some of the tension and help them not think that I am physically fighting them. But I do tell them I don't want to do certain thing and ask them if they will hurt me if I don't do them. The local cops don't hurt you much here ... even if you don't do what they want ... but they do still lock you up.
Lauren takes it to a higher lever than I do ... and pushes all the issues that much faster and farther.

That's what I was thinking: That SOME vocalization, if only to crystalize the reasons behind your lack of participation, would be more beneficial. Where to draw the line is indeed a difficult, personal decision. Though I'm very thankful that we all have Miss Canario setting the example and making drawing the line for ourselves that much closer to all the way that much more tempting.

It's difficult out here in Ohio. The guy standing next to me not operating a motor vehicle has no legal requirement to provide papers. But because I have a CHL, I have to inform them immediately that I have one. And because I have one, upon request, I'm legally obligated to provide both it, and another form of ID. Which as you might imagine often enough manifests itself as a result of an encounter where there is no probable cause and therefore shouldn't be any efforts made by me or against me. *sigh* I can't wait.

Do some research on the Drivers' License. Just like the Social Security number they assured us it was never going to turn into a tool of Big Brother.

Lauren is in jail if you would like to explain how having papers makes her a safer driver.

Elaine Brown is being held at FCI (presumably, "Federal Correctional Institute"), Danbury, CT.

I wonder if Lauren, or anyone else, is familiar with that institution from her time spent protesting eminent domain down there?

Lauren is breaking out of character, but Jim is maintaining his Aryan superiority
I wonder if Lauren is making that face in jail sometimes. :)
