Oh my gosh!  I had no idea that she could be being treated this way!  Do you think a large protest would help?  Like if we could get 30 or more people together?
one million should do the trick

nice article Kat.
It is interesting that she has never been even pulled over in winchester.  I wouldn't trumpet that to the winchester politicians or police, but I do wonder if they are choosing to Ignore her.
It occurred to me, that if they are detaining her because she will not cooperate, than she is our first Jose Padilla.
I just think the occasion has not come up in Winchester.
The didn't arraign her because she would not talk. They are stuck in their bureaucratic tracks.

We will be giving a tour of current Free Lauren Canario sites Friday.
We will start the tour at about 9am outside the Milford courthouse. Kat will be interviewing the court officials and will ask them your questions. Please post them here. Some of us will be holding signs, photographing and filming the security guards and any cops that will show up.
Kat will then head over the the police station if that is where the prosecutor is located. We might join her or enjoy more time at the courthouse.
We will then head on out to the location where they kidnapped Lauren on 101 at the overpass. We will be putting out red ribbons and teddy bears.
Then we can head over to her jail .... if she is still in there ... and let her know we are supporting her.

Come out into the rain and enjoy the fall colors and support our favorite inmate. :)

I added http://freelaurencanario.com/ to her wikipedia article.

there is a pizza place next to the courthouse ... might be useful

this is the step before we might have to visit the homes of the officials

if the cops ask us to do stuff ... we will follow lauren's example ... and not talk to them.

After some feedback and discussion, I think

"Show us your papers" is a more recognizable expression. Could someone translate that to German for me please?

Zeigen du uns ihre papiere
literally "show you us your papers"
using the familiar du, which is sort of insulting

Mach schnell!

Russell Kanning

it seems even worse in german

but "I need to see some ID" never sounds good

On another note, I was a little sad on Saturday, thinking of Lauren as we drove the Kancamagus highway.

She's going to miss the colors and the trip she was planning.  :'(

Thanx! I went with a very slight variation on that so I hope it's still correct.

"Zeigen du uns ihre Ausweis"

As I understand it "Ausweis" was the term for the official ID card.

She seems in good spirits, stays in her cell 24hrs/day (not even 1 hr a day out), and says she's being held on contempt of court - for her refusal to get off the bus to go to court.  She never even made it to court that first day.  She thanks everyone for the jail protests.  Will scan the letter soon.
