Jim or Russell, I would like to go.  I will pm you with my cell, if one of you could call me for directions and pick up time.  I will be happy to pay for extra gas.

Forgive me for being overly-general, but something to consider: When you look at the internet, you see a LOT of college kids taking up the liberal agenda. You see kids younger than that so stoked that they have a voice, that they squander it on harrassing others, trying to be cool, or just plain laying about without any real goals or motivation. This is what allowing the state churches (public schools) to run rampant for generations will produce.

The human spirit is not dead. It just resides in the awake, who are, for now, a minority. Expect the masses, who are taught to be violent towards anything that might threaten their world view of government servitude, to respond as they've been conditioned. In all fairness, Miss Canario's civil disobedience was anything but entry level, so its appeal and necessity will only be apparent to the purest of believers.

If anything, I would take mass protest from a group largely comprised of mindless statists (I'm using the qualifiers independently) as an indication that she and all of us are on the right track!

I've had some experience using Marc's approach -- had no idea Lauren was even speaking to the shirts, suits or robes.

If she's interested, I can send the basic criminal script Marc uses (I'm sure he'd give permission for me to share it for free).  Please let me know -- it's hard sitting here feeling there's little or nothing I can do to help.

Lauren needs any reading material you care to send her.

Can you give me some ideas of what Lauren needs if she's allowed to get it?  So I can send her books but what kind does she like to read?   Thanks! :)

Apparently, they haven't let her shower for 2 1/2 weeks  >:(
So in addition to all of her other rights they've violated, they've also violated her Eighth Amendment right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment. Anybody know her physician? Would they be kind enough to write a doctor's not affirming that such conditions are unsanitary and therefore inhumane?

Forcing her to go into the court against her will may also be a violation of the 5th.

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

It's a stretch but she could argue that since she feels the charges against her are invalid that showing up in court would be giving them validity and hence it would be a form of her posing as a witness against herself.

I don't know what they will allow Lauren to have...comb, soap...you name it she probably needs it, maybe there is away to send her a few dollars for sundries.

Last time she missed reading the threads of the many Liberty Forums.

She likes to read liberty philosophy and science fiction, but not science fantasy.

Okay, thanks! :)  I have lots of Stephen King and Dean Koontz books but I guess they are horror not sci-fi. :-\   I was thinking of finding lots of jokes on the internet and sending them to her too, is that a good idea?

I spoke with shift commander Lt. Cunningham just now. (Hillsborough County Department of Corrections 603-627-5620)

I asked him about the fact the Lauren hasn't taken a shower in two weeks. He fumbled around with his words. Here is the meat of it.

Me: I understand that Lauren Canario has been in jail for two weeks and hasn't been able to take a shower yet.

Lt. C: how can I put this? She is afforded the same opportunities as any other inmate.

Me: So this doesn't have anything to do with the fact that she won't go to court?

Lt. C: We're a....you could say....a neutral party, so no.

Me: So she has been offered a shower but refused?

Lt. C: I'm not going into specifics.

I was then referred to Deputy Chief of Security Bonnie somebody at X624. The officer that answered the phone said she is out of the facility but would pass my name and callback number onto her regarding Lauren's hygiene. We'll see what tomorrow will bring. I urge everyone to call the number and leave a message for her. God I hope she doesn't make them carry her to the shower too.

I just now talk to the on duty officer a Hillsborough Correctional, Lauren can be sent letters, money orders to purchase things from the commissary and publications from the publishers or from places like Barnes and Noble.
Lauren can take any extra money with her when she leaves the jail.

Jokes are always good.

We went to the court this morning.  I asked for the court papers regarding Lauren Canario.  The clerks had a little conference together and then handed over the papers, which were already out.  It said Lauren's being held on contempt and will continue to be held indefinitely.  No next court date is set.  So basically, it's a life sentence for a traffic stop.  The judge, Martha Crocker, appointed a government lawyer for her, though she didn't ask for one and didn't fill out their paperwork for one.

Kat Kanning

guessing the email address  for the judge is:

MCrocker@Courts.State.NH.US

Martha Crocker

This is the person responsible for Lauren being held indefinitely and the person who can change that.

Welcome to Amerika everyone!

Someone should take note of how much the thugs take out for rent for Lauren's happiness hotel visit in the commie-sary.
I had a friend who told a friend to only deliver commie-sary on certain days because they deducted a portion of what the person gains for personal use towards their keep. I am not sure if this is so in all states.   If everyone sends a bunch of money, she may only end up getting part or some if it...they keep the rest.
Usually, there is a cut off date for the "rent payment."...then for Lauren to order what she needs before the beginning of next cycle.
She is a smart cookie, I believe, maybe she could figure out by looking at the deduction times on whatever receipt they give her.

Just trying to help out. :grouphug:

It sounds like the Judge appointed a government lawyer on what grounds? Insanity?
Do they see her like a child, ward of the state to appoint a lawyer without her permission?
Maybe someone could get a certified copy of her birth certificate from the...the...was it, The Department of Commerce?

I will probably get negative karma for this. lol.
The smart people put him on ignore.

Good luck to anybody reading that and NOT being fumed. Thank you for putting it into perspective AND posting the judge's email address. Here's the email I sent to her:

Ms. Crocker,

I have been following Lauren Canario's current case as closely as one can from Toledo, Ohio. What I am seeing is outrageous.

Allegedly, Miss Canario was pulled over for speeding. She refused to provide her "papers" because we live in a free state, not a police state. Because of this, sworn police on the scene violated her Fourth Amendment right against warrantless seizures as well as her Fifth Amendment right against loss of property without due process. Remember, police are not judicial agents. They did this to her out of lack of respect of her First Amendment right to free speech (which includes saying nothing).

It is my understanding that you are the judge on this case. The judiciary branch is supposed to be the people's last resolve. It is our last hope against tyranny in execution and tyranny in legislation. Not only did you not address the above infractions, but you added to it. You have infringed upon her Eighth Amendment right to not be subject to cruel and unusual punishment. I've read that the cause of this was that she would not leave a vehicle to enter a court she is being charged with being in contempt of. It seems to me that when she would not participate in her arrest, she was physically moved. Why then would she not be physically moved into the courtroom? Unless of course there is a conspiracy present to try and add charges in an attempt to break the will of a free citizen of the United States of America and/or otherwise attempt to legitimize what's being done to her. Do you not observe her Fifth Amendment right to not testify against herself? Do I need to remind you that like the police on the scene, you too swore an oath to the Constitution of this great nation?

Attention over this case is growing. The longer these injustices stand, the greater her potential for redress of grievances become and the more widespread the knowledge of your own high crimes towards this nation, the court you reside over, and the citizens that gave you that power and required that oath of you becomes. I urge you to behave as the laws of the land REQUIRES of you and capitalize on your unique position to end these injustices by doing so. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Dan Sayers

I was hoping to have my website up by now but it's being delayed by technical difficulties, i.e. issues with Wordpress. So I'm going to go ahead and post a preview of the first post for you wonderful NHFree ppl. Hopefully I'll get these issues worked out soon.  :-\

Lauren Canario is in jail but her mind is free

Lauren was arrested on October 3rd. She was asked for her license and registration at a traffic stop. She didn't reply. When arrested, she didn't follow orders. She went limp and they dragged her to the police car. As of this posting, she's still in jail and has not been arraigned. Arraignment is supposed to happen within 24 hours of arrest.

A driver's license isn't really about competency in driving. The crime Lauren is really being punished for is not respecting their authority.

"I have just spoken to the people who are holding Lauren. They said they are treating her the same way that they treat any thief or murderer that they have in custody." - Jim Johnson, Lauren's husband 10/14/2007

You can get updates about Lauren's protest at the Free Lauren Canario blog.

The video below shows a demonstration against National ID in New Hampshire. Lauren and her husband, Jim are very visible dressed in Nazi-esque uniforms and asking people for their papers as they pass on the sidewalk.
