We'll miss you at the Apple Festival.  It was fun seeing you both last year.

I have been avoiding the Evil Empire state for almost a year now. They nailed me (I think that was the Landstar Compliance department guys words) when I left in November last year.

But I won't be able to stay away too long. Our problem this fall is that Kat keeps needing to be in Texas.

This is the best time of year to visit ..... bummer. The orange trees in Utah don't hold up to the Shire. :)

it was getting really hot out west for a few days, but we still almost froze to death on Vail pass :)
the new snow looked great in central Utah and over the 2 passes in Colorado.

Now we have been in Texas for a few days and it finally get under 70 degrees. You know you are in trouble when the record high is recorded for the month of October.

Russell Kanning

just when you think you might be making headway towards Dallas .....

... Record daily maximum snowfall set at Amarillo...

A total of 11 inches of snow fell at Amarillo yesterday... January 21st.
This breaks the old record of 4.9 inches set in 1966.

and I don't think they believe in snowplows there. :(

One more reason why we left Texas for NH.

80 one day, 20 the next, freezing rain, tornadoes... my azaleas would bloom 4-5 times between October and May, constantly confused.

the weather is nice now ... next off to NM

wearing shorts today in west texas

A co-worker had to wear his "long shorts" today, because it was single digits, subzero windchill, and snowing sideways.

Another co-worker's daughter was wearing thin little strappy sandals last week with six inches of slush on the ground.
