I can't remember if Lloyd was the first or 3rd person I had met at Porc Fest 2004.  He is my favorite curmudgeon mostly because he was never one to me.  I am going to miss him.

In Memorium - details to be finalized closer to the event.
Lloyd Danforth passed away Aug 15th... may he rest in peace.
I know he'd enjoy that we continue this tradition in his name.
Please feel free to post memories of Lloyd below (or link to those posted elsewhere, or photos, etc.)
And yes, this is a Memoriall with 2 Ls - we are all remembering him.

If this is confirmed... wow.

I had a Facebook message from him today. I'd asked him if he was interested in doing a job for me, and to give me a quote if he was. He asked me to send him some photos, and said he was working on it.

:-\

I had just made a deal with him last week to build some bookshelves.
Artie stopped by this morning and told me that Lloyd proposed making some Aderondack chairs in exchange for a state inspection.

I didn't think he would go that far to get out of work.
:'(

I think Lloyd would have appreciated the joke Jerry. :)
Man am I going to miss Lloyd. I shared so many laughs with him and so many relaxed conversations.

How can we start a thread ( that will get huge over time in the NH Underground tradition ) filled with Lloyd memories and stuff Lloyd would have thought was funny? This thread has a strange start. I guess death is always a shock.

Lloyd and I spent alot of time together.  You might say we were pretty good buddies. He was teaching me to be a Curmudgeon.  I was trying to teach him to be an Ambassador.  Hard to teach Curmudgeons though... but I did get to him to laugh now and then despite his best efforts not to.

Not only did he stiff Jerry on the book shelves , we were gonna build a damn picnic table for the Embassy. He told me that he wasn't gonna call it the Embassy though, that the correct name was still "The LZ" and that's what he was gonna call it no matter what.

He'd go to visit his sister in Connecticut and during his absence we'd clean up the mancave. Upon his return he'd grump about, "not being able to find anything around here now!"   I'm hoping he has at last found one thing he cherished...freedom.

He had a few good buddies these last few years. Lloyd was a nice guy.

He often joked that he avoided churches for fear of a lightning strike. I hope that when he faces God that the Lord has mercy on his soul.

I will have to post longer versions of times we shared with Lloyd. Lloyd had good taste in women. He was sweet on you Kate. I think he hung out with people like me and Don Converse was because of our better halves. :)

I miss his fedbook lifts already.

This might be Lloyd's favorite picture of himself.
