Probably at this point the main danger related to NH is that they would try and spirit him in and out of the courtroom before anyone knows what's happened.   I don't know if the Fed folks at Concord would do this to us as they do know many of us, and most seem to be more professional or calm than what you'd find at a random location. Can anyone remember if this particular court has done it to us in the past?

The magistrate has changed since Russell's 2006 disobedience, now it's Landya McCafferty though I'm not sure if I"m spelling that right.  She was pretty laid back by modern "justice" standards... at the one hearing I attended of hers.  That was 2010.

If we do have 24 hours notice of an appearance and you are among the first to hear about it, getting a facebook page set up quickly and starting to spread the word will help.  I'm intermittently standing by to to do that or to add invites to whatever facebook page does appear.  Please add a link to it here if you do start a facebook event for his appearance.

Another idea I had was maybe sending mail to whichever court we expect he'll attend?  Maybe address it to Russell c/o the Judge's administrative assistant or court clerk.    Might be the same person.   Or the prosecutor or public defender could be an appropriate recipient.  This would remind the court that Russell is not as alone as he looks in that cell.  Even if they don't give it to him.   KB in particular I'd like to know what your thoughts are on this idea.

Charges against Russell dismissed in NH!

I don't know where he is still, but NH court said they thought he could be prosecuted adequately in TX, so they dismissed their charges.

Kat Kanning

Waco fedcourt said they didn't have any updates.

They said 'prosecuted' when they meant 'persecuted'.

Got to go home for the day yesterday.  Russell's letters came back, so I've been completely unable to communicate with him for 2 weeks.

John

Sorry to hear this Kat.
My heart is with you.
Peace

I'm no legal beagle, but maybe someone who knows some of this stuff can say: should a writ of habeas corpus be filed?

As hard as this is for those of us who Love and care about Russell, we can be sure of one thing; that by these fedfools moving Russell around, more and more and more people in the prison system (both prisoners and thugs) are being exposed to Russell's goodness.
I'm sure that Russell is missing you dearly, Kat, but I'm also sure Russell is not missing the opportunity to keep spreading the ideas of Peace and Love to folks who truly need that message.

When this is over - and a pray that will be very soon - Russell will be back on the road with you, and he'll have even more stories to tell because of the fedfools insanity of moving him around.

Many years ago I wrote a song while Russell was in prison/jail.
Before going over to that prison on the sea coast to play it outside the prison, I came to Keene and played it for you.
I recall it lifted your spirits a bit. I hope it will today.
Jeremy Olson is going to help me put it on mp3 so I can post it.
Until then, remember this:

The Peaceful Rebel - a song by John Connell (August 2006)

At a prison out in Dover
As the heat wave passes through
He's as peaceful as was Jesus
And the guards all know it's true

They don't know what to make of him
He won't put up a fight
He wakes up smiling every day
And he smiles throughout the night

It is hauntingly familiar
As they watch him through the door
A few times - back in history
There were men like him before

The law was wrong & he was right
But that's not what they see
They just see the strange new rebel
Who keeps acting like he's Free

In that prison cell in Dover
As a summer storm blows through
He's as peaceful as was Jesus
And the JUDGES know it to

And if you don't like him, You won't like me either
He's a non-violent rebel, And I can't wait till he's home again in Keene

John

Glad about the got to go home part. :)

Thanks, John.  I love hearing your songs.

I'm taking a couple days home time next week.  It's my mom's birthday.  Yesterday was just extra cause I happened to be delivering in Forth Worth and had a day to wait.
