Thoughts toward wisdom

Hello everyone.  This is my first post since January 9th, 2010 but I have been lurking from time to time.  I want you all to know that when I wrote that last post I had every intention of moving to NH, but fate had other ideas.  I also want you to know how very impressed I am with your tenacity, your loyalty to each other and your perseverance.  I deeply respect all of you for what you have done and are still doing.

This is my 25th year fighting for freedom and liberty and the stress has taken a toll on the bodies of both my wife and myself.  We're really, really tired but we have amassed a great deal of knowledge. And wisdom begins when a person learns to utilize that knowledge.  I want to share some of it with you now.

First, I've realized that there is a scientific formula to calculate the potential for effectiveness of a movement.  The first factor is how happy or unhappy the people are when that particular movement comes to their attention.  The second factor is the perceived reward if the movement succeeds.  But the most important factor is always going to be the cost  for that reward – with money being the least important cost and that individuals actual participation and inconvenience being the most important.

An example of this can currently be found on the main Facebook page of Campaign for Liberty.   Two Saturdays ago a member named John Epperson wrote "I have already donated 20,000 to this campaign  I see no progress."  What did he expect?  Campaign for Liberty offers no plan and no time line.  Yet thousands of these sites are getting millions of dollars for doing little work, simply because they don't ask anyone to do anything while still making a person feel that they are contributing.

Now, what do you think would happen if someone came up with a plan to fix most, if not all of America's problems, with a specified time line and minimal participation for all of the beneficiaries?
I think that given the current state of unhappiness in the United States of America today, everyone would throw money at it.  And if everyone who would receive that reward would be willing to give just $1 to that cause, that someone and those involved with him would have the potential to raise $300 million in a very short period of time.

What do you all think?

I'll do it for 3 million and not tell you the plan either.

JohninRI

Well Jim, if I just told you the plan, why would you need me?

Jim Johnson

It's the same with my plan.
Apparently both of our plans are so easy, anyone could do it.

JohninRI

Well Jim, when and if we get together and you sign a nondisclosure agreement, I'll show you mine. And if you want to show me yours, Ill sign one too.

I'm thinking of a plan.

When you frame it like that, it looks like a run for public office.

I plan on having dinner later.

My plan is to stop accepting fiat currency as something of value.

I'm sorry to have wasted the time of all of you.  I had hoped for a different level of interest.  I'd tell you to keep an eye out for the project on Indiegogo, but I have a feeling that you're gonna know when it hits and you'll know what you passed up.

JohninRI signing off.

Why "all of you"? I'm no Johnson! Johnson is funny...

I've seen lots of "idea guys" come and go. Takes a little more than I have a plan...

Looked at Indiegogo... 300 million would be more than a bases loaded home run.

Feature film for a couple of million might help things go in the right direction. I've seen more than that flushed down the toilet on LP presidential runs.

First a play.
Then some small funding, which might generate a screen play.

I'm thinking... pointed comedy.

Russell Kanning

how can we like your plan ... we havent heard it yet

Jim Johnson

This plan is bullet proof;  A nuclear power plant/casino/retirement home.

The power plant would heat the casino and the retirement areas; it could be hotter than Florida.
Power could be sold to the power grid.
Gamblers would come and leave huge quantities of money.
There would be all sorts of full and part time jobs for seniors.

Free radiation treatments; it could be like a Disney ride through the reactor building.

:occasion14: Great plan, Johnson.  I'm in.

Tell Tom to give you a dollar from me. ;D
