It's tough living in a place that doesn't have enough courtesy to speak english.

The huge vast majority of Swedes speak English. About the only ones who don't are the elderly. It's been a standard subject in their schools for many years. I visited Stockholm and toured around by myself with no problem. I think I may have run across one or two the whole time who didn't speak it.
