Hey all, I know I don't hang out on this forum much anymore, but I am still set up as an Administrator and recently have been logging in to delete spam. A couple of comments/questions:

1) To other people with Admin access, please be sure to read unapproved posts before deleting them. There was one case where it looked like a new user was making a legitimate post, but by the time I got to it, someone else had already deleted it.

2) I'm usually content to just smite spammers and delete their posts, but there's a new user who just offended my delicate sensibilities (no, really) by posting several porn spams.    I was dying to delete that mofo, but apparently a password is needed that I don't have. So whoever's got the power, please ban user neommaempomma .

He's a spammer from the Ukraine with 75 entries in the StopForumSpam database.

If the front door is unlocked I suggest you look at the mods available for SMF 2.02 that block spammers by IP listed in spam databases.  The FSP forum added one that automatically blocked dozens of spammers that were signing up every day.

And Friday, the password you use to sign on the forum should work for authorizing Moderator privileges.
