Say I move to NH with my Big Dogs. The gov't is gonna want me to have a permission slip?!  Is this a statewide thing? Or local ordinance?

Why does it matter? Do you plan on getting a permission slip?

I will be moving with two dogs and I don't plan on getting any permission slips.

I finished with permission slips when I graduated from High School.

I don't need no stinkin permission slips.  :P Besides I forged mine all thru school  ::)

I am just amazed that dogs would even have to be licensed...and for Ms. Burbank to not be able to get her car registered cuz her dogs are unregistered blows my mind.  How are they even connected?!

And therein lies the Rub.  The town really doesn't like Ms Burbank.

Next thing you know, towns are going to throw tantrums, fall in love, get married and have babies.

It means you have to get a permission slip from the govenment to get a puppy and then ever so often you have to get new permission slips to keep your puppy.
Wrong. You don't need a permission slip to get a puppy.

Correct. I don't, but you do.
Wrong again. You are supposed to get a permission slip after you get a puppy/dog.

OK I'm a curious newbie.

What's up with having to license dogs?? Is this a local thing? Or is it commonplace in NH?? What exactly is the "license" for?? In rural Georgia, where I am presently, dogs must have rabies shots & tags, but I've never heard of a dog having to be licensed...

**confused** ???

Because the govt wants money, and they have guns.

I like how the govt keeps throwing protest opportunities at us.  Go get em!

Everywhere I've lived here in upstate NY, MA and RI have required that your dog have a license and an up to date rabbies vaccination.  (shhh, my dog doesn't have a license, but he has to pay an 8% sales tax on his dog food).

We're supposed to license dogs, but I don't know anyone who does. So long as they have a rabies tag, nobody cares.

I know someone in merrimack that had a vet turn them in for not having a dog license. He got a new vet.
