Well I got my new passport in December and it lacked the bio info :) You just download the application from the state department and send it in along with proof of citizenship and all that.

If you do happen to be one of the unlucky bastards who has one (make sure you get a 10 year passport either way!) just do as they say and don't subject it to excessive bending, submersion under water or microwaves.

*cough cough*
*nudge nudge*
*hint hint*
Even though mine didn't come with the biometric data, I must still say that I did not submit it to excessive bending.

Thanks Rochelle, good info! :)

What list are you on from Charlie Bass? I hope not those reprobate "Mainstreet" Republicans.... UGH.

It probably has the RFID chip, just no biometric.

If your passport has this symbol at the bottom, then it has an RFID chip.

That's what it looks like?  Gosh that is so small and looks like an imprinted design. I would've never suspected that being an RFID chip!  What does the chip keep track of?  I mean what are the technological functions of an RFID?

error

No, that's not the actual RFID chip. It's in the back. The symbol just means your passport has one.

...which mine does not have. Which means it doesn't have the RFID chip, nor the biometric data.

That's great Rochelle!  I guess maybe it's luck of the draw now. :-\
