FSP First 1000

A pledge bank to get 1000 people to move by the end of 2008 has been set up, championed by Ian.  If you moved after 10/1/03 because of the FSP, you can sign as well.  We need 1000 pledges by the end of 2006.

Ian Bernard, long time supporter and promoter of the FSP, as well as owner and operator of  Free Talk Live, is hosting this pledge. Ian will move to New Hampshire if 999 others will too. Ian is already a signed FSP participant but he doesn't want to wait until we reach 20,000 signers. He wants to move now but he wants to make sure there will be at least 1000 like him coming to NH!

So now he is going to wait for 1000 others?

I have a feeling he'll move no matter what.  But I believe this is the form pledgebank pledges take.  Cope with it.

Noted Tim Condon, FSP director of member services, "The member survey shows that 53 percent of members plan to move within three years, not waiting for the 20,000-member benchmark. Early movers should help recruitment by building a record of success."

So, 2400 people voted, and 53% of those said they plan on moving to NH within three years in 2003. So the FSP should have 1200 early movers in NH by the end of this year....

Remember when Jason talked about this on the FSP Forum and then it was talked about in the FSP Board meeting?

This is not Ian's idea.  He is trying to move to NH ASAP and will.

All current FSP participants are urged to pledge to an early move. And those who have already moved (since 10/1/03) are also eligible for inclusion. For non-participants, signing the FSP?s SOI is not required, though we encourage it should you desire to do so.

The pledge wording on pledge bank says "only if"... However we've made it clear that the pledge is open to people who have already moved *after* the 10-1-03 vote announcement.  It should go without saying that signing that statement doesn't prohibit someone from moving.  Furthermore, it shouldn't be unreasonably difficult to get 1000 signers, so I'm not real worried about it.
