It's a little weird saying that I'll move only if 999 other people do, but I signed anyway.
and this is wierd too:

Quote
All current FSP participants are urged to pledge to an early move. And those who have already moved (since 10/1/03) are also eligible for inclusion. For non-participants, signing the FSP?s SOI is not required, though we encourage it should you desire to do so.

I am going to sign too.  :P
Did you not live in NH prior to 10/1/03?

It doesn't say anything about living in NH prior to 10/1/03.

QuoteAnd those who have already moved (since 10/1/03) are also eligible for inclusion.
I moved after that...but it was an in-state move.  8)

I agree that people who will move, will move. We don't need yet another stink'n pledge.

But I signed anyways  :D

If you are going to move...just fucking move.
Are you down? Don't talk it, put it down.

I agree 100%

I guess a bunch of FSP participants have changed their minds about moving to NH as soon as they said they would:

http://www.freestateproject.org/news/media_archive/0102.php
QuoteNoted Tim Condon, FSP director of member services, "The member survey shows that 53 percent of members plan to move within three years, not waiting for the 20,000-member benchmark. Early movers should help recruitment by building a record of success."

So, 2400 people voted, and 53% of those said they plan on moving to NH within three years in 2003. So the FSP should have 1200 early movers in NH by the end of this year....

Why do you guys keep falling into the same trap?

Yet another fisher lie.

But he pledged to work toward smaller government!

No I didn't. That would be your interpretation of the pledge.

Quote
"I will move to New Hampshire by 12/31/2008 where I will work to bring about a society in which government?s maximum role is protecting life, liberty, and property but only if 999 other liberty minded individuals will too."

Notice how it does not specify human life, liberty and property.

Maybe I think the government needs to protect all life...the trees, the grass, the flowers....and to do that, it needs to be bigger.

Point the lies out.
What is false?

There is no trap.  It was a survey and not a vote.  Half of the members did not fill out the survey.

The trap I am talking about is these stupid pledges based on numbers y'all keep coming up with.

According to a member survey conducted concomitantly with the vote,.....But as Condon notes, "The member survey shows that 53% of members plan to move within three years, not waiting for the 20,000-member benchmark.
I should put you on ignore.

Yeah I agree. I think it should simply be that folks pledge to try to move to NH asap.
If the ones who have already moved had waited, we would get nothing done, whereas we are moving and shaking already with just the first bunch.

So where do you stand?
Grafton
So do you abide by your pledges?
Yes, especially the ones that do not require me to do much of anything.
The FSP pledge says "exert the fullest practical effort"....but this one just says "will work to bring"....
So any amount of work will do, according to the pledge.

Lex

Looks like at the rate we're going we should reach 2142 pledges by Dec 31st.
