AltExpo#15 - 20-23 Feb 2014 in Nashua and Manchester

It's that time again! We're holding AltExpo#15, our 16th event (since the first one was #0)

We've been continuously holdiing out to save the soul of the FSP from the overwhelming invasion of conservative reformers and have had some influence on loosening up their stuffed shirts a bit. PorcFest is going to be geared towards all AltExpo kind of topics this year. Ha! Wish they'd listened earlier - would have saved us the effort of putting on 15 events to show management what the people want to hear .

Our schedule isn't finalized, of course, and we'll post the master schedule on the Facebook page for AltExpo#15, as well as on an open Google Calendar called AltExpo that you can add to your Google Calendar.

We brought food vending to FSP events, alternative money systems, side events, massive crash-space sharing, promoted freedom radio networks, permaculture, co-oping and many other things that have become not just visions, but installations now. Stick around and see what's coming next!

We'll be in the hotel amphitheater, the Expo Village suite on the 2nd floor in the hotel, the Quill in Manchester and other locations t.b.a.

Cancel on part of the AltExpo being at the Quill. We've gotten an executive suite on the penthouse level of the hotel - room 829.

So, Thursday we start with hospitality in the penthouse and a kickoff talk in the amphitheater (B level). Videos every evening - Dale will like these!

I'm actually trying to watch. Trying... I gotta say, 20 minutes into what appears to be about a 2 hour speech and he still hasn't gotten to any specific points. I gotta say, that's pretty discouraging. So far, in terms of addressing the videos I linked which IMMEDIATELY started addressing specific claims by truthers, he has yet to address one single point made by Miles in direct response to claims by truthers at the 9/11 site.

In contrast, Miles starts directly addressing key points by 9/11 truthers within minutes. Do you have any idea when your speaker gets to the substance of Miles' debunking (or similar responses)? Miles is not, as he claims, dismissing the truther's claims without examination. Quite the contrary--he gets very specific regarding what's wrong with those claims and how they don't hold up based on the evidence.

So the first 2 episodes of this link amount to practically nothing but a straw man. Other than that, all he's done is claim that the evidence given can't be trusted because the sources are biased, but that's ad hominem. When is he going to start addressing the actual substance of the explanations by Popular Mechanics, for instance, instead of spending 20 minutes just trying to convince us they can't be trusted?

Filtering for self-selection is a classic technique... drive away those who might question what you say, and you're left with an audience composed solely of those who don't. It works for cult leaders, spouse abusers, and conspiracists.

We had a whooping good time at AltExpo#15! I think we may be getting the hang of this thing!

We were really fortunate to have Luke Rudkowski of We Are Change with us for the whole weekend! He took 2 different sessions - one on his theory of activism and on how he was able to pressure Mayor Bloomberg of NYC by constant (alt) media coverage ... the other on his techniques for mobile video reporting, with hardware and software tips to minimize costs and maximize impact.
