When my son was 16, he knew Green well enough to be in video chats with him occasionally. Green's wife is famously averse to publicity and cameras, but he challenged Ben that if he could find his address and home phone number, he would send him a personally autographed complete collection of his books.

It took me about 15 minutes to use property tax records to find his address, and his phone number (under a spelling variation of his wife's maiden name), and Ben shot him the info along with a screen cap of the Google Street View of his house.

He never heard back from him.
