"The study authors concluded that curbing gun violence may require reducing access to firearms and strengthening interstate border controls to prevent the transport of guns."

What a biased article. I also challenge the statistics as biased.
They lump together all deaths from firearms. So if someone doesn't have easy access to a gun and they want to commit suicide they will do it by other means. Just one example.

The first clue was when Mass. appears to be safer than Vermont and New Hampshire.

Any time someone tries to look at firearm deaths, alone, they are demonstrating obvious bias - the collapsing of categories is just icing on that cake.

Someone who's dead really doesn't care how they got that way.  If you were murdered by someone using a gun, or a knife, or a stick, or poison, or whatever, the part that's meaningful to you is that you were murdered, not how.  So, the only honest way to look at the statistics is to look at all deaths within a particular category.  If some change will result in 10 fewer firearm-involved deaths, but at the same time produce 100 more deaths, total, that change is responsible for 90 more deaths, not any improvement.

House guests (boarders) crossing interstate borders... well, we just can't have that happening. What a minute, they've got a house full of interstate crossing boarders! Get em!
