I love the lyrics to the song "New Hampshire's Alright If You Like Fighting". According to the singer, whose name is Ironlung due to his ability to his high tolerance of marijuana, says the lyrics are an "in-joke" that only NH residents will understand. I guess I don't get the joke, but the song makes me laugh nonetheless. I apologise if any of the locations are wrong, I'm typing by ear and the lyrics are hard to make out behind the loud guitars.

"A nice place to fight in the summer
A nice place to fight in the winter

New Hampshire's alright if you like fighting (x2)

A charge of assault in the summer
A punch in the face in the winter

New Hampshire's alright if you like fighting (x2)

Buzzard jam 99, Dover, Leanord State, The Weirs, Laconia Bike Week, Hampton Beach, Hemming Speedway, Chilton Franklin, Manchvegas, The Mount Washington Observatory, Ellacoya State Park, The new Cheese Ale House, Franconia, Warren(?) Sandpits, Harrisville, Portsmouth. Broken bones everywhere!

Do you like to fight? They'll smash your fucking face in!

500 stiches every summer. A steel-toed boot up the ass!

New Hampshire's alright if you like fighting (x5)"

;D

I get it. We are biker haven....the scenery and open highways are ideal for it. We have lots of festivals up and down the coast in the summer ..

Rocky Racoon. Hey, I'm old, too.

Now somewhere in the black mining hills of Dakota,
There lived a young boy name of Rocky Racoon.  ;)

Rock on!

Hey Roger, maybe you could ask these guys for permission to use their music in your video editing...

Hey Ian...
Just checked out the tune... what imagery could we come up with to complement?
I'll have William lip sync ;D That'll scare the hell out of people... 4 year old radicals singing "...out motherfucker the man..."

One that gets me going these days...

Steve Earle
F The CC
The Revolution Starts Now

I used to listen to the radio
And I don?t guess they?re listenin? to me no more
They talk too much but that?s okay
I don?t understand a single word they say
Piss and moan about the immigrants
But don?t say nothin? about the president
A democracy don?t work that way
I can say anything I wanna say

So fuck the FCC
Fuck the FBI
Fuck the CIA
Livin? in the motherfuckin? USA

People tell me that I?m paranoid
And I admit I?m gettin? pretty nervous, boy
It just gets tougher everyday
To sit around and watch it while it slips away
Been called a traitor and a patriot
Call me anything you want to but
Just don?t forget your history
Dirty Lenny died so we could all be free

But not as old as I...    :P

By the way, "Sweet Home Alabama" is Allman Bros, and "Can't You See" is Marshall Tucker -- same chords. Very similar sounding except for the details of the pickin'.

Perhaps these guys will play a Freedom Fest (or whatever the future celebrations of Liberty will be called in NH)..

I'm not sure lyrics that are laden with expletives and four-letter words would be welcome by some fest-goers.

Maybe they should play at a bar in town...

You are right. To modify ian's idea, I think it would be a good idea to recruit freedom lovers at Scissorfight shows.

burnthebeautiful

I think Scissorfight play Laconia Bike Week every year.

I wonder what Scissorfight thinks about the FSP. Might be worth getting their take on things. Maybe they would be interested in working with us in some way.

I don't call that music...do you? It's just a whole lot of noise..not something that makes you feel good....

You could all go see them in Newmarket at the Stone Church (where I once played) on March 25th

At this point it's all I've got. There aren't any other mp3s i can get with pro-freedom nh bands. There might be live stuff but that does  me no good.
