and in the minds of others .... obviously not you. I have been to many parts of The Shire. I have met many residents. It is very real.

Yes, but odds are good that if you have boundaries, the Shire will be more difficult to see.  Like the billboards in "Interstate 60"...

ALRIGHT!! That's IT! The map goes too far! I'm lobbying NH representatives to pass a law restricting use of the term "the Shire" to ensure it is used the way I want it to, and to make sure proper credit is given to the originator of the idea!

The Shire has spheres of influence like a city wanting to annex territory.
