Joel and Amy's Wedding

What a complete blast that was!  The ceremony was short and sweet.  It was a thoroughly Porcupine Wedding.  Porcupine Justice of the Peace John Babiarz performed the cermony.  Amy looked so sweet, and I guess Joel looked nice too :)  I'd say that porcupines were better than half the crowd.  Then there was a buffet dinner and dancing.  It got pretty wild.  Joel and amy's male relatives did a striptease.  Russell, Cal, Seth and Varrin did a chippendale's dance for Amy, dressed up as the Village People - to the YMCA song.  They made Russell be the Cop, LOL!  Will post pictures later.

At one point, Cathleen was commenting on the Merrimack Valley Porcs meeting, how it was as large as her annual state Libertarian Convention, and Sandy was saying PorcFest was bigger even than the CA Libertarian Convention.  I was struck how even though there might have been a lot of libertarians there in other states, they never had the closeness with one another that we have here.  Would they all have ever been invited to the wedding of one of the members?  I don't think so.

You really hit it right Kat. In SC, statewide we had some involvement from about as many people as we had last night. But activism and libertarian ideals were mostly compartmentalized. There was very little opportunity to live your ideals. We may not have free state yet, but our life is now full of people, family, principles, and action. It is tremendously satisfying.

It was a complete sucess, I had a ball!  I'm not sure what the family thought of all of us, but we sure had fun!  I can't wait to see the pics.  Someone asked if this was the first Porc weeding in the state that had porcs at it.  Anyone know?

Congratulations to Joel and Amy!

This also explains why the forum was so quiet last night.  :)

Sweet!  I'm sure that trend will continue.  How can it not when everybody is so close?

That's the nice thing about New Hampshire as opposed to other comparatively free, but larger states - we're all within reasonable driving distance of one another.  I attended the Merrimack Valley Porcupines meeting last Saturday, Joel and Amy's wedding last night, and the Concord Porcupines earlier today.

What a great bunch of folks we have!  Joel's a lucky guy, to have found such a lovely, plucky, sensible New England woman to marry him.
