The ban has prompted an angry debate in Pakistan. Rights activists and some religious figures welcome it as an important step in tackling the poverty that afflicts around a third of the country's population.

This expenditure is a "big social menace", according to Naeem Mirza, a human rights activist with the Aurat Foundation, a womens' advocacy group.

"Human rights activists" welcome this?? LOL? Sounds like the same idiots here in the US.

Maybe they should just take all the food from the rich people who like to have parties and just give it to those that can't.
