Meet with this guy tonight at 6:30 at Panera Bread with Russell, JP, Scott, Lori and I.

It's never too early to start running for United States Congress. And Chester Lapointe is pulling out all the stops on his way to Victory in 2006. I have been hired as Chet's campaign manager. Chet has been a very good friend of mine for a long time now and I can tell you he is as honest as the day is long.

He is former State Representative from Keene and now lives in Concord, NH. He manages a Radio Shack in Concord, is a member of the local Masonic Lodge and is an adult advisor for the local chapter of Demolay (an organization for young men ages 13-20 which helps develope personal responsibility and leadership skills).

Chet is an avid states' rights activist, a gun enthusiast and supporter of a Constitutionally limited government. He is running for U.S. Congress to Represent the Second Congressional District of New Hampshire and is seeking the official nomination of the Constitution, Libertarian and Republican Parties.

We need your help. We need to form a Campaign Committee. We already have the campaign manager (me) and a Treasurer. We would like to put together a full campaign plan over the next few months so that when Chet officially announces in July 2005, we can hit the ground running.

Can you help? I already do so much -- a little of your time would be appreciated.  Email me at chetlapointe@yahoo.com

It is tough to beat a strong ethical Republican incumbent in a primary in this state.  National Republicans could not support Benson because of a highly tarnished ethical business image problem.
Not to mention the fact that he used 10,000,000  of his own funds to get elected two years ago.

Sununu beat Smith because Smith sold out the Republican Party and became an Independent Candidate for Pres. in 2000.   He also took a lot of heat in the Elian Gonzales Fl deportation case.  Ran for US Senate in FL and lost.

Friend of mine ran for Rep. Ma state senate seat from your old town with the promise of financial support from Romney and MA Rep. party.  Promises of campaign aid never came thru.

People need to run at all levels to make the system work.   Good luck with your endeavor.

Yuck. You seem full of pessimism! Anyway, who was the candidate from my town? Only three people have run in the past ten years.... Brion Cangiamila, Ilana Freedman and Dick Dellarciprete. All very good friends of mine. Ilana ran as a Libertarian... so probably not her. Dick was being an ass and didn't deserve the party's support and Brion... well... he had a few too many "dead bodies" lying around so to speak... you must mean either Dick or Doug Lucente (who is actually from Lexington, not Billerica).

Of course it is tough and hard to beat an incumbent. But no battle has ever been won when the people who care most about it started out saying "It is tough to beat a strong ethical Republican incumbent"!

VICTORY!

P.S. Sorry... I just ALWAYS have this peppy CAN DO attitude and can't stand folk trying to cramp my style!

JP,
Which district is Concord in, Bass' or Bradley's? Either one needs to be defeated.

Dell.  Former bus. partner and best friend.  Realistically even to run for a NH statehouse seat it takes many unknowns 3 or 4 trys.  Reality and a long road with many hard knocks is the life of a campaign.
Noticing many on this group dish out a lot but have very thin skin.  You'll be fine and I hope your guy gets 51% of the primary vote, if optimism makes you feel good.

Yes, I also hope for 51%. Dick Dell had some issues regarding not wanting to petition nor come out and campaign when all of us were busting our asses. So some of us (I included) asked the State Party not to help him since he didn't have any apparent drive to want to run for public office.

Boy, that was the longest run on thought-in-action I have ever read.

Completly lost on me thought... probably for the best ;) I mean... I get the first part.. but the rest doesn't have any place in the story it seems... just a run on thought process waiting to be finished.

And -- I never called you a "horses' ass" silly!

Never said you did.  Your group just needs to focus on the winnable battles....drawing even if you can't win outright....        Keeps the spirit pure...

Aha.... hmmm... OK. Well, we believe this one is winnable!.

Freedominnh,
Just curious who the Exeter Selectman was. I grew up in Exeter, still live there. A classmate was a full-blooded Abenaki. Her brother is now very active in tribal affairs.

So JP will the storm be hitting you on your way home tonight? :(
