Congratulations on winning, sorry I was unable to make it. Someone else mentioned and I am not sure if either of you were interested, but if you did want to sue the police officer/ department for false arrest and otherwise depriving you of your constitional rights, I would be more than happy to help out. Likely damages if you won could included nominal things such as money you had to spend in order to defend youself, transportation, lost work etc. and perhaps a small amount based upon the fact that your 1st amend. rights were deprived. Also civil rights actions (1983 complaints) allow you to collect attorney fees :) If either of you were interested in pursuing an action let me know. Plus if I could represent you, either with the court's permission or after I hopefully pass the NH bar in July, I would pay the costs for filing the suit and otherwise since I could recoup it any attorney fees you could ultimately win.

I don't presume to speak for Russell & Kat, since they were the ones facing this, but it's very irritating that even when they dropped the charges, they did so in a way that forced you to go to court, disrupt your day, travel 3 hours round trip, make arrangements for "what if I go to jail?", etc., etc.

It's like they found every possible way to punish you, without imposing legal punishment. The dropping of charges could should have been handled over the telephone.  >:(

Hey Kat and Russell will do anything to throw a party and give us a good time. ;D

The hand fans where also a great idea. :)
When I lived in Korea, businesses often gave out hand fans with advertisements on them.  I have enough double sided tape to make thousands of them.  The jumbo popscicle sticks only cost about a penny each in bulk.  The paper was 110 lb card stock, which only cost about 2 or 3 cents a sheet.  I think I might make some to promote some of my favorite websites, like freetalklive.com, nhfree.com, homegunsmith.com, etc.  I will probably use some in my election campaign and as part of a possible education campaign to try to educate people about their rights.

Please do NOT sue the government over this, and please resist the temptation even moreso since they apologized for it.

Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch?

Do not judge and you will not be judged. Do not condemn and you will not be condemned. Pardon and you will be pardoned.

I look forward to hearing the audio recording, Tim.   :)

As the rain continues, I think "Down came the rain and washed the spider out . . ."

Good News:     Charges were dropped.

As an avowed atheist, it is especially rare that I am moved to say this, but now is one of those times:

Thank God

Dude, as a man who has called himself an athiest for a long time, I must say that I can find no better words in resent times than "May God Bless Them" (and these are words I do not seek) when I think of folks I have met here.
I don't know why, but those words keep coming to me.

The peace, streanth, courage, forgiveness & Love seem too much for other words.  I don't know what else to say.

Thank you for that picture Roger.  The image was forever imprinted on my heart and mind when I saw those kids today, but I had checked my camera in the car...
If we must do anything "for the children" it is to preserve some Liberty: It is them to whom WE will answer.

I agree, though one should always remember:

In every interaction with a bureaucrat you are in damage control mode.  At best you will have time and money wasted, at worst jail or death.  All you can do is try to influence the pendulum to as little time and money as possible.

It's none of my business, but I can't help thinking how totally cool that could be :)
