War Sucks, Let's Party!

QuoteThe Anarchists are positive like bees around a hive
Yes, protesters sit in the streets with signs signs signs
The slept of the world
Have filled us to the brim
But some must have cast that balance
Based on those who live in sin.

It's unbelievable
It's unbelievable to watch the system crumble
This political shakedown, coming correct from the underground
This political shakedown, coming correct from the underground
We've been cut up
We've been shut up
For far too long.

Pull the feeding tube, out of the mouth of democracy
Tell 'em we're starving to death
What's buried in the ground
We can all breathe free
We can all breathe free

It's unbelievable
It's unbelievable to watch the system crumble
This political shakedown, coming correct from the underground
This political shakedown, coming correct from the underground
We've been cut up
We've been shut up
For far too long.

It's unbelievable (whoooa whooooa)
It's unbelievable (whoooa whooooa)
Policeman
It's unbelievable (whoooa whooooa)
Takes his gun to her head
It's unbelievable (whoooa whooooa)
Just like he's beating the drum
It's unbelievable (whoooa whooooa)
And those reporters dance like hell
It's unbelievable (whoooa whooooa)
..To the sounds.

The album was recorded in a week with minimal overdubs, and this contributes an amazing vitality and urgency to the whole package.

Aren't Anti-Flag socialists?

I'm one of those people that can't live without music. I go more than an hour without music and I start having withdrawl symptoms. I'll start singing and tapping the rythm on things to cure my music-fix.
As far as lyrics go, 95% of all musicians are left-wing. You'll find a bunch of anti-war songs, but that's about it. There are some notable exceptions, though. The last couple of months I've been listening a lot to Scissorfight, a NH band who kick fucking ass. All their songs are about living the NH backwoods lifestyle.

Weed guns and axes
We don't pay our taxes
Cause we don't exist
On any government list
Yeah, we're survivalists
In the wildernesss
Our battlecry - Live free or die!
Scissorfight - Granite State Destroyers

How much shit should we take?
The time is ripe to smash the corporate state
Vengeance starts right now
And Scissorfight is gonna show you how
To outmotherfucker the man
Scissorfight - Outmotherfucker The Man

"Neil Young's LIVING WITH WAR: 'It may just be the Fahrenheit 9/11 of rock'"

So, they're saying it's a faked-up smear piece?

He should sue over that review!

Cool! Tunga had no idea they was from New Hampshire.
They get airplay on 100.1 the Planet. WPNH Plymouth.

I love that fucking song!

WXRV is on the web at WXRV.com. They're still independently owned unlike 99% of Radio in the USA. haven't heard Sissiorfight yet cause they are mostly MOR or easylistening. Led Zepplin once in a while though.

Where can I find Scissorfight online?

I gotta throw in my $0.02 (sure beats bashing my head against the code I am supposed to be writing right now):

  • For thinking, coding and various other meditative states, Tangerine Dream
  • For playing with my son and soothing/growing both our brains, Vivaldi or Ray Lynch
  • For driving or doing domestic chores, the Free Talk Live AMP Podcast (no damn commercials!) or the Liberty Conspiracy! podcast
  • For pumping iron, long-distance cycling, or coding when not too much concentration is required: TooL and Rush

TooL are coming to Boston on May 21! Whooooooo!

Thanks. Now I don't even need to drink anything to feel wierd tonight ;)
Gimme...

I'd kinda like to hear you fronting a more guitar-oriented instrument track, say Pantera- or Meshugga-style, than the oversampled-Mr.Bungle-loop-thing.
But that's just a personal preference.

Cool I saw Tangerine Dream twice in DC... once at the Kennedy Center and once at the Warner Theater. Both excellent shows.

If anyone knows a decent electronic-oriented DJ/producer type, plz hook me up with them because I can dump vocals and lyrics into the mix.  Here's one I wrote and sang but the producer didn't finish.  It has some really naked spots that just sound wrong but you'll get the idea:

http://home.earthlink.net/~dadaorwell/Gimmee_Draft_3.mp3

but i could work with most any genre or anyone who has studio stuff and can produce, if the sound is right.   i can't produce my way out of a grove of trees, i just want a mike to stand in front of.

Dude I had no idea... ;D

I like your voice... and you are on to something (or is that on something)

The piece has it's moments... it would be cool to make a video that was an animated collage of images with DadaOrwell and the Liberty Zombies.

Thanks for the hearty laugh. :)
