I have an Iver Johnson .38 S&W. It is a break top and can be fired in double action. It also happens to be a hammered model.
There is no model number on the gun, but the serial number is only in the 50000 thousands range. My web searches indicate that Iver Johnson made a number of .38 and .32 "pocket pistols" from the late 1880's to the 1920's.
Does anyone know what these guns are typically worth? It is functional.

Is it like this one?

IJs were not high dollar guns. They were always a working man's firearm, affordable but not of the highest quality. For the most part, they don't command a high price, as the example above shows. They can be fun to shoot, especially if you handload some mild ammo.

Here's a pretty good resource for identifying your particular revolver:

Ben Sansing, the author, is a good guy. I once bought a Steyr-Mannlicher M95/34 from him, along with a bunch of ammo. It's a stout little beastie when it comes to recoil!
